Six winter styles that are affordable, comfortable, chic and easy to find! I got your back! Teaming up with She Does to share some of our favourite winter looks.
WINTER STYLE INSPIRATION
This week the colder side of winter has finally settled in our corner of the world. Though our winters are very mild, when you are not in the sun, it can feel rather chilly. As you know, my fellow style blogger Emily of She Does and I love to put looks together to share with you. In this blog post you can find six outfits for your winter style inspiration.
All were from one of our locals, Garden City shopping centre from high street brands that you can find all across Australia and online. We wanted to inspire your winter looks with affordable pieces that were both wearable and cool. Mixing our denim favourites with warm textiles and our wardrobe staples these are all ready to wear.
SIX WINTER LOOKS
THE LEOPARD FAUX FUR COAT
You can tell from the attitude I am giving in the shots above that this incredible leopard faux fur coat made me feel like a million bucks! Clearly I was channelling all sorts of throwback rock and roll vibes in putting this winter look together. I have repinned images of Kate Moss and a host of other street style favourites in leopard print coats so often, I had to wear it! What do you guys think? Cool or a bit too much for you?
This coat was such a statement I decided to keep the rest of the look pretty understated, though I did come up with a few ideas for styling it with some red pieces to make a real splash.
Across our shopping date at Garden City, I did find a few leopard coats, so they are definitely available everywhere and a look that you don’t actually have to be a rock star to pull off!

A BIKER JACKET AND CLASSIC STAPLES
As far as our agreed favourites go, Emily and I are both big fans of the biker jacket. Be it an investment leather option or a vegan alternative, biker jackets are the essential that we can not get enough of. We both wear them year round and keep collecting new ones, because each are just that little bit different. (To be fair, I only have two, one leather and one vegan).
Emily, inspired by the leopard coat decided to channel the print with her velvet heels. Teaming it all back with classic straight leg denim (complete with her signature rips), a minimal buckle belt and classic white t-shirt this look is one for anybody. If you are into a statement print all over like me, or tend to prefer to opt for a more subtle take, the leopard print is iconic and classic.
You can brush off any Grandma Yetta comparisons with a carefree laugh. ;)

THE FAUX FUR JACKET AND FUR COLLAR BIKER
There are so many cool faux fur pieces around at the moment we could not ignore them! It is one of our favourite winter looks. As soon as Emily saw this blush pink faux fur jacket she was in love! Equally, I was taken with this biker jacket and it’s detachable faux fur collar. The fur jacket, worn with a leather mini and simple white tee, is equal parts statement as it is understated.
Em and I traded for this look and I paired my mom jeans, white cami and biker with some cool flatforms. To pull off these flatforms with jeans I think it is all about the right crop length. You want to show them off properly and feature your ankles.

So, of course, I am curious to know what you guys think. Would you wear the faux fur jacket? How about flatforms? I wasn’t really into them at all until recently. This brogue style really caught my eye and I am in love though. However I will say they took some getting used to when I first wore them. You really do have to step flat footed.

MINI’S AND JACKETS FOR THE WARMER DAYS
These are our ‘we are in denial that it is winter’ looks. Not true, but while cooler in the shade, a lot of our sunny winter days hover around the 22 degree mark and coats aren’t so necessary. As many of you are also reading from the Northern Hemisphere and today marks the beginning of your summer, these looks may also work for you.
It is evident by now that I am a bit of a fan of the humble wrap dress, so seeing this star print dress I had to wear it. Beautiful on its own or with a cropped jacket, I am in love with this last look.
Keeping up with our denim theme, Emily found another denim mini to match with a simple striped tee and biker jacket. When it comes to either of us, a great deal of denim, simple tee’s, biker jackets and little black handbags go a long way.
