Checking in to The Westin Perth for an incredible staycation! The most luxurious addition to Perth’s hotel scene.

You may recall thanks to my Instagram (@inspiringwit) that Mario and I checked in to one of the incredible executive suites for a memorable and relaxing stay at Perth’s newest luxury hotel, The Westin Perth.

The living space overlooked the CBD, eye level to some of the tallest of Perth’s high rises. Not a week earlier, I had been saying to Mario that I didn’t think I had really been up to any of the top floors in Perth’s high rise buildings. With attention to detail in the luxury furnishings and those views, I felt as though I had stepped into an entirely different city.
It suffices to say that, I knew our stay was going to be one that blew me away. Greeted with a giant bunch of beautiful roses, a bowl of chocolate dipped strawberries (which did not last long), a bottle of Moët, Sodashi products and fluffy take home robe, we were feeling spoiled, to say the least. The Westin Perth offers ‘Romance’ and ‘Indulgence’ packages to cater your stay and also include Valet parking. This makes a stay even better.
Looking around, it was so different from the CBD views I remember when I moved to Perth ten years ago. Back then, buildings were being demolished and built new. While this is still going on along the foreshore with the development of Elizabeth Quay, Perth has come along way.

EXECUTIVE SUITE
If you were following along, you might have caught my room tour on my Instagram stories. If you missed it, it’s up in the highlights on my bio page under travel. It is the best way for me to share just how beautiful the suite was. Also, to share the floor space! This was certainly one of the largest suites I have had the pleasure of staying in.
The lounge area with large tv and chic but comfortable lounges was a space I could have spent a lot more time enjoying. It led through to a serving bar adjacent to a long dining table. This was the sort of dining table fit for your dream dinner. The one where you invite your nearest and dearest to host a truly unforgettable evening. Finally, a boardroom and full kitchen finished off the suite, which I could not help but calculate is larger than our tiny apartment!
The bedroom caught the golden afternoon sunlight before a beautiful sunset. Slipping into one of the Westin fluffy robes, I quickly touched up my makeup in the stunning bathroom, making a mental note to make use of the bath after dinner. (And trust me, I did!)

Of course, as you can see, our stay provided the perfect backdrop for me to shoot these stunning new season looks from Parisian brand Reiko Denim, along with some Rebecca Taylor and Notes du Nord pieces. The velvet leopard blazer was a piece that I instantly fell for, along with the relaxed Reiko denim pieces and ruffled tuxedo shirt. I have a full post coming this week with all of these looks, so keep an eye out.
WESTIN PERTH CLUB LOUNGE
Before dinner, we headed to the Westin Perth Club Lounge for a bite to eat and a drink. The staff were all lovely, recommending wine and dishes to have at the Garum restaurant. The Lounge offered drinks, a cheese board, antipasto and small bites, perfect to enjoy over conversation and a romantic evening. During the day, it is open for tea, coffee, addictive cookies (Mario ate two!) and as a spot to catch up on the newspaper or just relax.

DINING AT GARUM
Given we had taken so many photos already, we decided not to take the camera equipment into Garum for our dinner and instead just enjoy meals at the staff’s recommendation. Garum is a collaboration between Guy Grossi and The Westin Perth, serving meals designed by Head Chef Mario Di Natale focusing on ancient Roman techniques and modern Roman dishes. Local WA produce is the real hero of the dishes. The wine menu was most impressive as an accompaniment to the meals, featuring many wine producers from Western Australia and highlighting the region of Lazio throughout.

WELLNESS
Though I usually have trouble slipping off to a good nights sleep when I travel, our dreamy King sized cloud bed has been something I am still thinking about some weeks later. I love that the Westin hotels prioritise wellness and a good rest, providing guests with a lavender essential oil balm for sleep on each bedside table. I must admit, it has since made it into my travel sleep kit that I will be all too grateful for on my future trips!
The attention to detail and wellness further extends to the menu, where along side the room service options, there is also a full wellness menu. We opted to have our breakfast in room nice and early to spend as much time soaking up the beautiful morning views as possible. Pastries, fresh juice, coffee a fruit plate and our chosen breakfast mains provided quite the spread! I didn’t need lunch after all that!

WESTIN PERTH WORKOUT FITNESS STUDIO
Before checking out, we headed to the gym and pool to give them both a try. The gym had to be one of the cleanest, brightest and best-equipped hotel gyms I have been to. With cardio machines facing the huge windows, you can workout with stunning city views.
The pool, while cold (given we stayed mid-winter) was actually warm in the water, though, I didn’t end up being game enough to wade out too far! I think we have to stay again in summer and make use of the Bodhi J Day Spa.
If you are more inclined to workout in room, the Westin offer hiit videos recorded with Rachel Finch, that take you through warm up to a no equipment 20-minute workout. There is even a gear lending service if you haven’t remembered to pack your activewear. New Balance and the Westin offer active gear that you can hire for the length of your stay.

All in all, checking in to The Westin Perth reminded me of a luxury stay in an international destination. It truly felt like we had stepped outside of the hustle and bustle of Perth. Well fed and rested, it was difficult to leave! Perfect for international travelers, for a romantic and relaxing staycation, The Westin is the most beautiful addition to Perth’s Hotel scene. I’d dare say the Hotel awards will be coming in thick and fast.
