Travel style. How my wanderlust has inspired my personal style.

Hey all I have just a quick one for you today. Hoping all is well! I wanted to share one of my outfits from the other afternoon, it’s a pretty casual off duty one (ahem, aren’t they almost all, Jenelle??). Of course, I have shared with you my love for the shirt dress before, this time I thought to mix it up I’d get layering. Talk about a multi functional piece. Wearing a shirtdress as a sort of duster jacket layer is just one more way to stretch your wardrobe and create new looks.
TRAVEL STYLE INFLUENCES
Over the years my travels have influenced my personal style quite a lot. While I am not so big on collecting endless souvenirs, I do find inspiration from hand crafts and traditional textiles globally. There are Mexican rugs, Moroccan pressed metal dishes, painted ceramics and woven textiles which add to my home.
BACK TO THAT SHIRTDRESS
This one is a print that I love a lot from Hello Parry. I want to stress that I am conscious that this style is an interpretation of the Palestinian keffiyeh print and I imply no disrespect in wearing it. I will admit that I have a couple of Israeli designer, Dodo Bar Or pieces which are made from a similar print that I have yet to share with you on the blog.
A number of Palestinians have voiced that they were offended by the western world interpreting the keffiyeh in their fashion choices. Personally as a traveller, I love to celebrate other cultures through my style and in my interiors.
WANDERLUST AT HOME
I love to collect pieces from our travels or inspired by trips I wish to take. Textiles and hand made home wears are some things in particular which I feel bring that travelling experience home with me even when I cannot be travelling. There are long periods of time in which I don’t get to travel, it drives me crazy, so I try to remind myself of the great world out there wherever I can.
