Why swapping over to Transitions® Signature Style Colours lenses are a total style and lifestyle game changer.
WHY I DECIDED TO TRY TRANSITIONS® SIGNATURE STYLE COLOURS GLASSES
As you may have spotted if you have been following along for a while, I am a glasses wearer. I thought about it this week and realized that I have been wearing glasses since I was in mid-high school, some twenty years ago! Suffice to say, they have been a regular part of my lifestyle for a very long time. Though I also wear contact lenses (namely so I can wear sunglasses) if I am at home or just going about my day-to-day, I am wearing glasses.
A few years ago I remember going with my best friend Irene to help her get fitted and pick out her first glasses. Last year at her wedding she told me I was crazy for not owning Transitions®. It had never been something I had really considered ordering. Personally the grey coloured lenses just never really appealed to me. Enter the new Transitions® Style Colours! I am sold! This month I headed into our local optometrist and had fun picking out some new glasses to get Transitions® Style Colours made up. Rather than the classic grey, the new range comes in Sapphire, Amber, Emerald or Amethyst.
STYLE OPTIONS TO SUIT EVERYONE
Given my last three or four pairs of glasses were tortoiseshell frames (which would be perfect with the Amber lenses), I tried on a few pairs and decided to go with something a little different. As a lover of blue the Sapphire lens definitely drew my attention, knowing it will go with my endless supply of denim and neutrals. The lenses automatically adjust from clear to dark and shades in between depending on the light levels. Pictured here, I was outside on a cloudy day, so they are dark but you can still see my eyes through them. I’ll share a picture of me in full sun up on Instagram (@inspiringwit) soon.
The lenses fit the majority of frame styles, sizes and prescriptions so all I had to do was pick out a style. Finding a round frame (I am still all about the round styles having seen so many cool styles on the streets of Paris) from Oliver Peoples in a matching blue and gold, I knew I’d found a good fit. I was so excited once I’d picked them out that I swear I talked about them every day before I got the call they were ready!
HOW I’VE FOUND THE TRANSITIONS® SIGNATURE STYLE COLOURS LENSES
Though they said it’d take just short of two weeks, the glasses were ready to be picked up within days. I’d by then been hanging out to try them and have to admit I am now completely sold! Even going from inside my office, which is low light to our bright outdoor balcony, the flexibility is so impressive. Now I feel a bit silly that I didn’t have Transitions® lenses before. They are so practical and make life much easier. There are days where I am running on low sleep and my eyes just do not want contact lenses in them at all. Transitions® lenses are a lifesaver! The technology in the lenses reduces eye fatigue and strain, block 100% of UV rays and adapt to changing light really quickly.
Another thing I have been researching more about recently has been the harmful effect of blue light from devices such as my phone, the computer or even my iPad. As I type this wearing my glasses I can see that my screen is just that fraction easier to look at, my eyes feel more relaxed. If I take them off, the screen is just a bit brighter. Given wellness is such an important part of my life, having that protection feels like a smart move. I am in front of screens for a large majority of my day.

INSIDE AND OUT
I thought I would take advantage of demonstrating the lenses from inside to out at the Art Gallery of WA. One of my favourite things to do to take a break and gather some inspiration is to visit a gallery. You can see how clear the lenses are once inside. Outside though, the sapphire colour kicks in and it does automatically feel like you have put on sunglasses. Not having to carry sunglasses in your bag (particularly if like me, you have been buying tiny shoulder bags!) or potentially lose them is such a win.

THE FINAL WORD
Prepare to see me in these more often! What do you guys think of the colour? Do you wear glasses? Ever tried Transitions®? Let me know in the comments below.
