The inaugural Telstra Perth Fashion Festival Swim + Resort Series held at the Royal Perth Yacht Club was the perfect event to kick off the Perth summer. I also give you permission to wear black in summer…
Fourty five of Perth’s fitest models walked in some of Western Australia’s brightest swimwear from Gypsea, Palm Swimwear, Bikini Atoll, Natalie Rolt, Fella, Zingiber, Amore & Sorvete, The Towel Collective, Bondi’s First Base and Rue Stiic Swim. Capturing the Western Australian beachside lifestyle, the vibrant collections offered an array swimwear options to suit different styles and shapes. From elegant black and white sport influenced designs to floral printed pieces, the designers cater for everywoman.
Personally I am keen to try out the high waisted designs of Bikini Atoll (this has been on my summer list for a while now…) and am all about the fuss free designs of First Base, Palm Swimwear and Fella. Grey, navy, black and white are all swimming around in my mind for summer. The showcase ended with an incredible finale as each model came out in a custom designed one piece by Bikini Atoll, creating a vibrant high cut rainbow.
Finally I just wanted to share a ‘what I wore’, as Emily kindly shot photos for me- while I danced around on the Royal Perth Yacht Club dock. Am in love with the sterling silver necklace and bangle from Australian label Najo, the key is so elegant. This leather skirt is probably one of my favourite things in my closet right now- I picked it up thrift shopping and can pair it with a singlet, tee, denim jacket, jumper… I love the high waist and longer length too. I feel a story about leather skirts may be due, I have a few and wear them all the time, so perhaps in the new year I will do a leather skirt special.
Pictured above with these gorgeous ladies – Sandy from Hello Parry, Angeline of Love Thread, Andrea of What’s The Goh and Michelle of A Minute Away From Snowing. The shoes I have on are the pair I chose at Betts for Her when they gifted me a pair- I have worn them over and over as they are seriously comfortable heels. If you want a good strappy pair for the summer, get onto it as they are currently on sale (link is below)!
