It is no secret that a visit to the ocean helps to restore mental clarity, emotional-well being and physical health. Swimming helps to increase your blood circulation while the magnesium and bromide rich seawater restores essential minerals depleted by stress- relaxing muscles. So there is no wonder a quick dip yesterday morning had me feeling physically and emotionally restored.

I have discussed with friends many times the rebirth feeling that comes from swimming in the ocean for the first time in a long time. That cleanse from the daily grind, chance to unwind and feel free and happy. I hope that given we are in the height of summer in Australia you are including visits to the coast in your ‘resolution’ lists as I am mine. It takes only a few minutes to feel revived, to spot some fish and give yourself that little bit of time out.

I should mention the swimwear I have been loving- perfect for swimming laps or just for embracing a coverup, this swimsuit is from Lululemon Athletica, using their Aquelu™ fabric which is made with post-consumer waste nylon. The mesh allows you to feel less weighed down and lets water flow through while the four-way stretch Xtra Life LYCRA® fibre is designed for improved chlorine and salt resistance and UPF 50+ for sun protection. If you are looking for a versatile swim piece, this is one I can recommend. When asked what brands I have tried in the past year and go back to again and again, Lululemon is high on the list. Oh, and also, these are reversible so you can switch between the print and black to suit your mood!
