Creating some pretty spring make-up looks with the new collection from Clarins.
SPRING MAKEUP FROM CLARINS
I’m going to have to be completely honest and admit that I didn’t realise Clarins did makeup products. My Mum uses some of their skincare but I have to admit I’d never tried any. Plus I breeze through cosmetics counters pretty quickly if I ever find myself in a department store! Nevertheless, I had a very sweet surprise delivery last fortnight from Clarins with the limited edition Spring makeup collection. Made up of essentials that create an easy pretty beauty look in minutes, I’m seriously impressed. If you are breezing through either David Jones or Myer anytime soon, these are worth stopping to look at.
In the spirit of trying to post more regular beauty content I thought I’d do a quick review and share two spring makeup looks.
Instant Poreless Primer – This mattifying primer delivers exactly what I want in a primer. As I tend to get an oily t-zone, pore-blurring and mattifying is something I need. My only critique would be that this tube is a little small, I think I’ll run out fast! I’ve been applying over my SPF and it preps my skin nicely.
Supra Volume Mascara – Am just realising this mascara must have rolled out of my photos because it isn’t pictured! All the same, I am wearing it in the beauty looks. It uses Cassia flower wax to enhance the lashes and create volume which is tested to boost lash fullness after about a month of use. I’ll keep an eye out.
Glow 2 Go Blush & Highlighter Duo – These multi-use cream sticks are handy and travel-friendly. I’ve been mixing and matching the Glowy Pink and Golden Peach but admit the peach tone is my favourite. The Bronzer adds a nice glow, which is easily blended. Of the four colours in the sticks, the slightly iridescent highlighter is my least favourite. Maybe it feels a little too party for me for every day, it’s more of a night highlight.
Ready In A Flash Eyes & Brows Palette – A lightweight palette with cute packaging, this one offers matte and iridescent eyeshadow shades. Again in a peachy and a pink tone, it also offers darker neutral matte shades to blend or create a darker smokey look. In the beauty look above, I paired the peach tone with the lighter matte shade. I’ve mixed the pink tone below with the two mattes. The palette is slim and good to take on the go- particularly for brow touch-ups.
THE CULT FAVOURITE
Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil – A cult favourite, this plant-based oil formula offers nourishing, glossy shine. I love the sponge applicator and have been experimenting with wearing these over my lipsticks. Above, I am wearing the shade red berry which comes out pretty light. Though it looks a little on the dark side, the blackberry shade is a beautiful subtle darker shade (see the second beauty look below). I love the subtle berry scent and non-sticky finish of these.

GLOW 2 GO
So there you have it, two spring makeup looks that are perfect for every day, using the handbag-friendly collection from Clarins. Thus far my favourite is the Golden Peach Glow 2 Go stick. I’ve been using that and the red berry lip oil the most and chucking them in my bag when I go out just in case. Have you ever used Clarins? I’d love to hear what you have liked or if you can recommend something for me to try next.
