THE SMART GUIDE TO STOCKING UP ON STAPLES

by jenellewitty@gmail.com

I have found a great way to shop for staple wardrobe basics on sale, or track down a particular designer piece all in one place. Here is the secret…

We all know we need to add good staple items into our wardrobes, but often they remain at full price (being best sellers). Honestly, if you are anything like me, I would rather spend my money on a more exciting fashion purchase. AKA a sale pair of heels I have had my eyes on! However, if you have staples on hand, they can get you ready much faster.

I talk about the capsule wardrobe a lot, this is what it is all about!

ENTER FASHION LANE

I recently discovered a new Australian site Fashion Lane which tracks the sales on over 220 sites for you. This means if you have a shopping list you can search the sales in one spot. No opening up a bunch of different websites and wasting time trolling through to find what you are after. Really, who has time for that?! I don’t!

MY STAPLES STRATEGY

Going into the new season I always place an order with Uniqlo of the items I noticed were missing from my wardrobe. This time around I picked up some linen shirts, a knit, jeans, t-shirts and a fun sweater all on sale through Fashion Lane. Score! Saving money on basics is such a bonus.

I am not actually in the habit of buying a lot of items, but tend to invest in quality pieces that can work for me. If I can save a little at the same time, I can put the extra cash into a travel saving fund.

Take a look and see if you can find your own staple items at a good deal. Perhaps you can track down a piece you may have missed which looks even sweeter on sale. You can search by store or brand. So, if you really wanted a particular dress by Alice McCall for example, you can search the brand and suss out who is selling it and at what price. The stores include ASOS, The Iconic, SABA, SurfStitch, Sportscraft, Seed Heritage, Uniqlo and more. These are some that I personally shop from all the time and am always recommending.

Now, question is, do I really need those Romance Was Born x Beau Coops boots??? Help!!!
