The best affordable Levi’s jeans I have found and where to get them on sale (along with the rest of this outfit!).
A LITTLE STORY
In the whole scheme of things, I consider it a personal mission to help track down the coolest, most comfortable and highly wearable pieces to share with you. If I can find them on sale, even better! (More on the sale below!) When I first started blogging, way-way back in 2010 I first felt the excitement of this mission forming.
A girl I knew (but not very well) told me one day that after reading my blog she had written down some notes and taken herself out shopping. This was something she generally dreaded, as a lot of us do. After trying on a lot more jeans than she usually would, she left with a well-fitted pair and some bits and pieces she’d noted down from my blog to style with them.
To me, jeans have to feel right and fit well but after that, you can do a lot with styling them. A fun t-shirt or plain white t-shirt and jeans can be transformed with a nice low heel or white sneaker, a classic blazer, a chic bag and classic sunglasses.
HOW TO FIND THE BEST JEANS FOR YOU
The trick with jeans is that you honestly and unfortunately have to hunt the suckers down. To find the right style for you, it takes time as well as trial and error. At least, in my experience. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, there is no exact quick fix. However, once you find your brand, most cuts stay around for years. For my best friend Irene, Zara jeans are her go-to. For me, Levi’s have been a winner.
Thanks to my body developing while I was training in figure skating, I naturally have bigger thighs. As I hit puberty I was using them to skate a lot (using my quads to push off on the ice). Unfortunately, this for me means I often have trouble finding jeans that fit across my thigh area and sit nicely around the waist. Size wise I wear between a 24 and 25, these are 25.
WHY I LOVE LEVI’S
Levi’s have always been good to me. The best thing is that they keep their shape in a way that most jeans, who start out well-fitted let me down. Even better, Levi’s aren’t super expensive. Personally, I prefer to invest bigger savings into shoes, jackets or handbags and save on things like denim. But super cheap denim generally loses shape quickly so Levi’s are a perfect affordable quality option.
WHERE I BUY MY LEVI’S JEANS
I get my Levi’s from Shopbop. Though there are physical Levi’s stores, the ones I have been to in Perth or Adelaide only stock the basic styles, which are a bit dated. They are clearly popular but the styles aren’t exactly the modern jeans I think are actually cool. Sounding like a snob but trust me, the styles are about five years behind. Shopbop have the vintage-style-turned-modern Levi’s cuts I love as well as a huge range of jackets, shorts, skirts and jeans in skinny leg, distressed and relaxed fits.
The jeans I am wearing here are the Levi’s Wedgie Straight Jeans which I will buy next in the indigo and faded blue wash. I also love the classic Levi’s 501 Skinny Jeans.
