When looking for a textured piece, I was looking for something which would ideally have a contrasting fabric within the garment. I stuck op-shop gold with this jacket- possibly very recent from Witchery, it has beautiful wool knitted sleeves to the contrasting satiny jacket.

When wearing a lot of black, it keeps things a lot more interesting if you mix up the textures -think wool, silk, leather, etc. Varying the opacity helps too. To contrast the textures further I paired this look with my trusty ‘genuine lizard’ clutch (or so it proudly reads on the label inside).
This look is easily one of my favourites to wear out to ‘fashion’ events or drinks when I don’t feel like wearing a dress. The dramatic side part keeps things a little glam, but not too feminine (hey, if it works for Eva Green, Cara Delevingne and Kristen Stewart), and bolder eye makeup keeps it from being too casual. Sometimes I like to be the least dressed up person in the room.
