Checking in to the QT Perth Hotel for a weekend stay.
We recently were very lucky to spend a beautiful weekend at Perth’s hot new inner city hotel location the QT Perth. QT Perth is fun, beautifully furnished boasting comfortable, spacious rooms and a popular rooftop bar. Walking distance to either Northbridge, Elizabeth Quay or a stroll down one of the busy shopping districts, QT Perth has a lot going for it. Not to mention the dining options and super friendly staff. Let’s just say we were well looked after.
QT PERTH HOTEL
On ground level, QT Perth has a large open seating area, foyer and cafe. It’s a popular meeting spot for coffee dates and catch ups. I’ve found myself at the QT Perth many times to meet locals and interstate visitors alike.
THE ROOMS & ROOFTOP BAR
Checking in, we headed up to our room, decked out with the black cockatoo wallpaper. Personally, I am all for the fun decor, king sized cloud bed, generous wardrobe and sitting area. But the highlight might have been the bathroom, black marble with a large shower and even larger bathtub. No surprises here, but I did make use of the bath and it was glorious.
During our two night stay we ordered room service for lunch, I opted for a healthy bowl of veggies, which I was happy to spot on the menu. The classics were options too, of course. Then we headed up to the QT Perth rooftop bar for a quick drink before our event in the cultural centre, which we could walk to in under ten minutes. Sunset from the rooftop bar has been popular form the get go at QT Perth. You don’t have to be a guest to visit so it’s always busy.
BREAKFAST AT SANTINI
Both mornings we headed to Santini for breakfast. Truth be told I was so sold on the buckwheat strawberry pancakes the first morning that I had it twice. Not that I could manage to finish it all either try! Lemon Ricotta, Hazelnuts, Real Maple Syrup & Cinnamon Sugar proved to be a delicious combination. We did also make the most of the continental breakfast offerings which probably didn’t help me.
A staycation wouldn’t be complete without a chilled afternoon wandering around the CBD to stretch our legs and soak up some sun over lunch. As I said earlier, QT Perth is in a prime location for visitors, with everything on its doorstep.
DINNER & DRINKS AT SANTINI BAR & GRILL
We made our way back to Santini Bar for a drink on our second night followed by a lovely dinner at Santini Grill. I love this space soooo much. The bar and the restuarant have the coolest fit outs I could go nuts photographing both! The Santini Italian inspired menu and wine list went down a treat.
We had the Gold-Band Snapper Carpaccio with Pomegranate, Celery, Grapes & Green Chilli as a shared starter followd by Rough Cut “Linguine” Shark Bay Crab with Smooth Tomato Passata, Cognac & Greek Basil and Rigatoncini + Lamb Ragu 12 Hour Braise with Baby Peas as mains. Damn that was tasty! Of course, I insited we finish off sharing the Tre Cannoli in Raspberry Custard, Pistachio-Sweet Ricoa & Dark Chocolate Zabaglione. I am a sucker for a good Cannoli!
The next day, we checked out not quite sure we were ready to! The stay couldn’t have been more relaxed. When was the last time you had a staycation? Let me know what is your favourite thing about exploring your own city below.
