In setting yourself up with key pieces in the wardrobe, a ready to go party dress is the sign of a well organised woman.
I have spent a bit of time lately re-visiting the items in my closet, from the essentials to the statement pieces and looking at which items I can work into the new season and which to store away. It occurred to me that though I am usually the first person to say “balls and award nights are just not my thing”, I actually do enjoy the dressing up part in my own terms. A silk blazer over silky pyjama style pieces and a little heel? Sounds like the perfect glamorous night attire! (Actually, there is probably a story a long those lines on the way ;) )
Having a dress on hand that is reliable for a cocktail event, a ball or award night or any sort of fancier occasion is pretty useful! I have a silk navy ‘ball’ dress from Zimmermann on hand for such an occasion (I haven’t had it photographed yet, so I am free to “reveal” it again and again should I need to.) :)
This strapless fitted dress is from one of my favourite Australian labels Talulah. Perfect for any cocktail event, this strapless shape is comfortable but not outlandish (given the pallet) so it can be worn again and again. I can switch up the makeup look, change for a strappy nude heel, throw over a blazer, wear a statement necklace… there are always options to mix things up. Seriously though, having things like this ready to go saves such a headache when an invite pops up and you either have no time or run out of time to find something to wear. Stress free so you can get on with the celebrations!
