While we would all love to wear our weekend looks all the time, there is a time and place. It is time to talk officewear. With a street style inspired twist of course.

WHAT I WEAR TO WORK
It is about time that I talk about officewear. You know me well enough for my weekend style, but, lets face it, we all have to pull on our big girl pants and get to work.
I sincerely hope that some of you reading work in an environment where denim is accepted in the office. While I work for myself, I can wear anything I like in the office, though it generally consists of denim and some sort of cotton shirt or bohemian loose fitting blouse.
I do have a terrible habit of sitting cross legged or with my legs up on the chair, which means pencil skirts are out! Though, I have worked in public offices I certainly have had to concentrate on sitting properly!
WHEN YOU FIND A NEW CLOSET STAPLE
As soon as I got this blazer last week (see here with the matching shorts) I could not help but try it on with a heap of different looks. One thing I love about finding a new staple for your wardrobe is how much it brings to the table. You know that a piece is right for you when you don’t want to take it off and can already find a few outfits to wear it with. That is the beauty of shopping for essentials, they give life back to old clothes.
I always think, if you try on an item of clothing and it looks like something you would already own, or should already own, then you know it has found its home.
OFFICEWEAR VS CASUAL STYLE
Clearly it is no surprise that for me comfort is essential for my officewear. If denim is not appropriate, I just swap out the jeans for culottes, fitted or wide leg pants. Alternatively if a cami is a little too revealing, I swap in a printed blouse.
Though, in all honesty I have worn this jacket to work back in the day… (click the link for a shock!). And I still have it.
