Cause a stir on New Years Eve this year and embrace metallics or a suit!
This New Years Eve, it is time to party! Perhaps the stresses of super long days and nights have gotten to you like they have me? I feel, that this time around any excuse to feel free, get dressed up and have a bit of fun is seriously valid. I can hang on the couch and veg out another night! This NYE lets embrace it!
You may or may not know this, but I am a rock and roll lover through and through- I grew up in an era of rock- from the over the top glam rockers from the seventies to the eighties, the hair bands, right up to grunge in the nineties along with a bit of ska, punk and later more independent, relaxed rock. It has always been a big part of my life, I find constant inspiration in music and am more than vocal about my disinterest in other musical genres (I can not handle rnb or anything dance or too pop oriented!). This of course is a huge influence on my clothing, as I grew up surrounded by posters, album art, video clips and everything else I could get my hands on. I’ll draw inspiration from Patti Smith, Rod Stewart (back in the 70s!), David Bowie, Gwen Stefani, Sebastian Bach and a heap more.
So the idea of dressing in a metallic printed paisley/ brocade suit? Why not?! It’s so rock and roll and the best excuse I will have to wear it is to throw caution to the wind at New Years Eve. I have a few metallic jackets in my wardrobe, all vintage that I will throw on over a simple black jean/ white tee and amp up an otherwise simple (yet comfortable!) outfit. It is such an easy way to stay comfortable but also express something that is a little eye-catching and sometimes bold.
This New Years, why not suit up (it doesn’t have to be in metallics head to toe!), find a glam metallic look and have fun! Pair metallics back with basics and you will turn heads- but not for the wrong reasons.
