My second order from iconic French brand Sezane had to be these timeless leather shorts.
LEATHER SHORTS FROM SEZANE
A quick little outfit blog post to share these chic leather shorts from Sezane. I teased these on Instagram already but had to go into just a little more detail here. These are a fresh update for me that I was hoping I could wear as much as possible before it got too freezing (update- I am an ice block!) and later with tights. Thus far, as you can see I’ve braved them in the rain with bare legs, on a touch and go Saturday afternoon. Touch and go because I really did hope with all my positivity that it would not in fact rain at all. I teamed them with my Sezane bohemian style cotton Sassy Shirt (which you saw in my last Sezane review post here).
The result? A touch of soft and feminine with a whole lot of tough leather to keep it grounded, boots and all. I love mixing up my textiles and playing around with an outfit of juxtapositions like this one. It feels very me in a way that honors both my practical and feminine sides.
I sized up in the William Shorts for a relaxed fit, anticipating tucking in sweaters and layering them over tights. For reference, I am usually a size XS but opted for a small and love the fit. These come in a bunch of colour options, I love the suede caramel pair too. Sezane carries staple essentials like these all the time, so I really wanted to give them a red hot go. They did not disappoint!
ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO STYLE
Alternative ways to style? I’m bound to shoot some soon for you, but thus far I’ve layered with black wool tights, a thin knit top, and a wool blazer for an evening look. Again, opting for boots, since I love that kind of look. Although I’d love to try them soon with a classic black pointed pump heel too. Watch this space. In warmer months, I’ll pair them with strappy sandals and stick to nice romantic blouses in cream, black, or a muted print. Or for a laid-back casual look, a white tee, some flat slides, and a big pair of sunglasses. I love pieces like this that you can wear across the seasons.
Over to you! Would you wear leather shorts? Dare to try them in winter? Let me know in the comments below. I think I will get many years wear out of these, so get used to seeing them.
