Taking a break from the office in the Autumn sun, wearing this beautiful knit vest and wide leg culottes.
Afternoon breaks by the river are just what I need, a chance to step away from the office, to take in the fresh air and feel the sun on my skin. After a morning of shooting stories, styling looks and answering emails, it is nice to take a brief break. Mario and I revisit this spot from time to time, stopping for lunch, watching the waves roll in. While taking it all in this afternoon, some children and their grandparents caught fish off of the jetty. The delight on their faces with each catch was pretty sweet. The grandmother was telling the kids that she used to swim there when she was little. I am not sure I would go jumping into that water, but it is sweet that their tradition continues.
Sometimes you just need to take a little break.
I told you I have a bunch of great knit wear to share with you, this ribbed knit vest by Perth label Morrison is a beautiful transeasonal layering item. Of course, there is little reason for layers in this sunshine. Perhaps it is the cut or the ribbed detail, but this knit feels really elegant on.
This look is exactly the sort of outfit I wear into my office job- throwing on a blazer to ward off the air conditioning. My office looks are generally paired back and I will not wear something that when sitting down becomes uncomfortable (ie skirts with tight waist bands). These culottes are a little too loose on me, but the wide leg is really comfortable- I can get away with feeling like I am in pyjamas without looking like it. (Who’s the boss now?!)
I have one more Morrison knit to share with you later this week and it may just be my favourite. Stay tuned. In the mean time, what is your tip to get through a day in the office? A never ending cup of tea? Sending funny emails to colleagues? Wearing a bright lip colour?
