Simple ways I like to layer midi dresses when things get a little chilly.
Midi dresses have been growing on me for the last few years. I used to think they would cut across in a weird way making my 163 cm frame look even shorter. It was a little unwarranted, but I try to find some that just look right. This blog post was initially meant to share a few ways to style midi dresses with layers for cooler days. However, since I’ve been under the weather, I only got the chance to shoot the first look. Here’s hoping you like it all the same!
HOW TO LAYER MIDI DRESSES
First up, I love a classic boxy blazer over just about anything, midi dresses included. It’s exactly what I turn to when it starts to get a little chilly. Not into the blazer? A denim jacket or leather moto jacket are just the right alternatives.
Prefer a knit? Sometimes I do too. As I type this, I have a cosy knit over a midi dress with comfy sneakers. It’s an alternative I like to turn to instead of track pants at home. Since it’s been SO cold in my apartment, I’ve been living in track pants and I am so sick of them. Loungewear is comfy and all but there are times I just have to force myself to dress up a little more. The bonus? I’m ready to run out for coffee or to the shops without feeling too underdressed.
THE MIDI DRESSES EDIT
WEAR IT WITH
Pictured here, I am wearing the Realisation Par Alba Dress, which I reviewed earlier in the year. They are just starting a new 25% off sale so don’t miss out. I’m also wearing my favourite TKEES sandals which you can shop with this link to get 10% off at the checkout. I have about twelve pairs of their sandals now, they are so so good and go with everything. Of course, if it gets too cold I’d have to swap into boots. Even colder? I’d throw on a trench coat, over the blazer and all.
