FESTIVAL SURVIVAL KIT

by jenellewitty@gmail.com

This week we are off to Adelaide for some of the festival action, I am sure to pack a few pieces to make sure all that time in the sun goes swimmingly.

This week we are off to spend some time in my home town of Adelaide! Mario had never been over during the “mad” March festival season, so I thought we would make the best of it and get over there. The cultural happenings in Adelaide at this time of year rival most of the country, with the biggest Fringe Festival, plenty in the Festival of Arts, WOMADelaide and more. We have some plans to get amongst it, catch up with people and take a few trips out to some of my favourite spots like the Barossa and weather permitting Port Elliot for a swim. I am so excited to head back at this time of year and soak up all that is going on.

I know there are still festivals happening around the country- with things like Bluesfest up in Byron (I wish I could get to it!) so I thought I’d share a little of the festival survival kit.

First of all I make sure I have things on hand like comfortable boots which can get a little dusty, but will last the whole day or night. These are by Emu Australia, they are SUPER lightweight, which also comes in handy for travelling and keeping the weight in your suitcase down. They are suede with a wedge sole and have all sorts of support for wearing for a longtime. I am a big fan of boots, so the comfort factor is a huge bonus!

Given the days can get pretty long, I’ll have a few beauty fixes in my bag like sunscreen, a pocket compact mirror (like this UBU one) and a few hair products in mini sizes. I have the Joico Refresh Dry Shampoo and Gold Dust Finishing Spray to fix up my tresses, which I’ll otherwise leave to their own devices. beyond that I keep things pretty low key and focus on the music! Oh, and before I get going I may just fix up my pale legs (!) with a tan, if I am in a hurry I’ll just use this Cocoa Brown Lovely Legs Spray which you can apply and it instantly tans and can be washed away later. Sorted!
