Another fake Autumn strikes again! The transitional pieces I have been trying my best to wear as much as I can despite the residual summer heat.
CALLING OUT AUTUMN AS A FAKER
You have to love living in Perth for it’s very lazy approach to Autumn. Right now it has been in the high thirties, perfect for long swims at the beach. I have yet to see any leaves change colour or indeed fall off and form piles to be jumped into. By this time last year, I had spent some time in Adelaide which takes Autumn seriously. This is largely due to the crazy number of European trees that were planted there over a decade ago. Perth doesn’t tend to have the same tree heritage.
The good thing has been I’ve made it to the beach for calmer swims without the gusts of wind that summer smacks the ocean around with. The only downside to the fake Autumn being that I have all this cool Autumn/ Winter clothing that I am ready to be wearing already!
Of course, I am not going to dwell or complain about this fake autumn situation. The Northern Hemisphere is still being blanketed in snow as the first official day of spring came and went. I feel for you guys!
WEARING: MESOP STRIPE BOXY T-SHIRT, LEVI’S JEANS, JO MERCER SLIDES (NOW ON SALE!!), PROENZA SCHOULER PS11 BAG, RAY-BAN SUNGLASSES, CLUSE WATCH
I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW
It’s actually embarrassing to admit how much new denim I have accumulated in just a few weeks. I’d done a massive clear out of old, ill-fitting stuff and am little by little replacing any of the key staples for a better fitting alternative. Though, don’t get me wrong, I have NO desire to re-accumulate more than I need. Clearing out the old made it obvious what I was missing, that’s all.
These jeans were one pair I mentioned in the wardrobe update video I shared last week, which you can watch now on YouTube here. I also talked about this shirt, which I now have in both white and black via Bohemian Traders. They are THE softest shirts! I can not get enough. Perfect for fake autumn.
And for anyone who is sick of seeing my little Furla bag, first of all, HOW DARE YOU!! haha and secondly, I have my eye on this new style Furla have brought out. What do you guys think? Should I invest in a new one? Is it upgrade time?
SUMMERAUTUMN MASH UP
This last look is sort of that perfect blend of summer and autumn. Pairing woven slides with a bamboo bag seem to be the perfect summer easygoing combination, right? Somehow, though it seems a miss-match, I really liked these summer hits styled with the jeans and knit. It may not make for the most obvious combination but the warm neutral tones tie it all in while the jeans take a comfortable backseat. And I am still talking MAX comfort in these jeans. You will not be surprised to learn I have a different wash of the same cut in these Levi’s Wedgie straight jeans on the way. And I have to keep using the Cult Gaia bag! It’d be rude not to! It commands so much attention!
This knit is one that you will see me continue to wear in winter, it is a beautiful cotton in just the right tone. Mesop is an Australian brand I discovered late last year. I’ve worn them a bit on my Instagram @inspiringwit but will have to do a bigger feature up here soon. I think the quality of their pieces is definitely worth sharing with you.
