HITTING REPEAT ON THESE EVERLANE ESSENTIALS

Today, I had a new delivery of pieces from Everlane. It reminded me, not only that I had yet to post these photos, but how good the quality is. Particularly, of their denim, with the best cuts and colours.

At this point, half of my denim collection is basically Everlane. I’ve talked about it here before, find the details in depth here. As for my new delivery? I’ll go into that soon enough. But first, here are some of the Everlane essential pieces I wear all the time.

ONE THING I LOVE ABOUT EVERLANE DENIM

One thing that makes it different is the fact that 98% of the water used to make Everlane’s denim is recycled. Other denim manufacturers waste thousands of gallons of water. Standard denim manufacturers use “belly” washing machines, which waste as much as 1,500 liters of water per pair of jeans. Everlane’s factory uses a closed water system and super-efficient jet washing machines, so only 0.4 liters of water are lost due to natural evaporation.

The Cheeky Straight jeans are my personal favourite, I have them in three or more washes. And I have one pair on as I type this. The sizing is true to size. I have some in a more relaxed fit in a size 25 but a more accurate fit on me is a size 24. After having a cold this week and not working out, I must admit I was nervous pulling on the pair that arrived today. But they were perfect. Phew.

THE MOST WEARABLE BLAZERS

This dusty pink blazer has been my favourite to brighten up my winter outfits. That break from black or grey lifts my mood. If you missed my transitional weather outfit wearing it with the matching pink shorts, click over here. I think that look will be one I wear more as soon as the weather warms up a little.

Anyway, in terms of brands I go back to for a classic blazer, I have to say Everlane takes the top spot. This pink one is their Easy Blazer, which also comes in black and a beige neutral. Hanging in my closet, I reach for the Oversized Blazer in grey herringbone. See how I style it here with my favourite boots. Finally, I have a cotton-linen blend blazer in navy which they don’t have at the moment, but it comes in other colours. Those are also on sale, heads up.

As for sizing, I wear all of mine in the usual size 0, which is perfect. The cuts are all oversized, in just the right way.

Apart from Everlane, I love Anine Bing and Boden for blazers, I have a few from each brand and my collection is full!

GREAT LEATHER SHOES

Over the years I’ve tried a few of the Everlane essentials shoe styles. My favourites are probably the Boss Boots and these, the Day Heels. I have the Day Heels in black suede, they go with everything. They are super comfortable with just the right amount of heel. I will say with all of my Everlane shoes I’ve found its better to size up. As I find the backs of the heels can be tight and tend to rub. For reference, I have narrow feet and am usually an 8.5 but have started ordering size 9.

Their leather shoes are made in Italy with the highest quality leather and attention to detail. There are a number of shoe brands I trust for everyday shoes. I look for practical styles to suit my work-to-casual style and Everlane is top of that list.

EVERYDAY ESSENTIAL TOPS

Last on my list of four Everlane essentials are their tops. This one I am wearing is a simple tank, great for layering under a blazer. Every season Everlane has good quality basics like this. Organic cotton tees, recycled cotton tops, tanks, and more. Not even getting into their button-down shirts, which I love!

These basics may not be the most exciting thing ever but I don’t think they should be overlooked. When building outfits, it’s often those simple layers that tie it all together that we forget. Lord knows I always seem to be looking for just that one simple black tee which is inevitably in the wash basket.

I hope this is helpful if you are curious about Everlane sizing or what to try first. I’m big on building a wardrobe of staples that look effortless together and can be mixed and matched. Everlane is a great place to go to for this. They haven’t let me down with quality, so I go back to them again and again. Have any questions for me on these? Let me know below.
