Slowly taking over a small section in my wardrobe, mustard yellow is my newest warm hue of choice. Just in time for the warmer months too!

MUSTARD YELLOW

While navy, red and blush pink are my general go-to hues when I depart from neutrals, there is a small section of my colour coded wardrobe dedicated to mustard and yellows. I have shared it up on the blog before with this vintage shirt favourite and this 70’s inspired bikini. It is the colour of happiness after all and it always lifts my mood.

Heading into the new season, I was so excited to add this beautiful mustard ruffle top into my wardrobe. It just screams summer! Here, I have paired it with a high waisted culotte, but I am looking forward to styling it with denim as soon as the weather warms up.

Both of these pieces are from the ultra feminine and striking label, Collate who are another of my most recent discoveries. The collections are all so stunning, my wish list for their site is so long. I have another look to share soon that I think you will love.

TIPS ON HOW TO WEAR IT

I am sure that mustard yellow is one of those colours that a lot of people avoid. It is definitely tricky but if you are avoiding it, I think you are missing out. The trick is to keep things simple. I opt for denim or neutrals and prefer tan and gold accents, keeping the palette warm.

Like any bold colour, the best thing to wear with it is confidence!

So, where do you guys stand on mustard yellow? Will or do you wear it?
