Did you think I would miss the opportunity to share a little flare? No way! The last day of our week in denim and three ways to wear flared jeans.
I have a small confession, I have a bit of an archive of seventies vintage pieces that I have collected and since moving, stored back in Adelaide. Given the seventies pieces hitting the recent runways, I decided to unearth a few of these pieces and ship them across. I made sure to drape this coat over my carry on bag as I had missed it the most. Do I look like a lumberjack? Sure, but I’ll take that.
I looked all over the house for a pair of flared jeans which I just could not find only to settle for bringing over a pair of flared overalls which at the last minute I decided not to wear in today’s post. They need a little work, so I will save those for another time. Lucky for me, there are some flared jeans slowly hitting the stores- even in Perth. For the past year I had been searching for a good pair but alas there were none to be found and I wanted to try them on before I committed to some so online shopping was out.
This pair from Witchery ticked a lot of my required boxes and I am so happy I decided to go snap them up. Now onto how to wear your flared jeans… Here I teamed a loose silk shirt in a matching indigo, though could swap that out for a white or beige shirt. The second look is a tucked in tee (minus any print to keep things clean) and finally the seventies coat. I just love the playfulness of being able to wear such strongly seventies pieces for once without feeling too costumey. I love to pair flared pants with a swing top or jumper and will definitely share this style in coming weeks.
This is my last denim week look but I do have a little YouTube video to come from behind the scenes on our shoots. Watch this space. I hope you have found a few ideas for wearing your denim pieces this week in an effortless way. The key is to be confident, find the right colour/ shape/ style and cut for your body shape and have a little fun.
