TRACES OF MY SOCKS
First of all, please excuse the marks from my socks on my ankles! haha I just noticed them as I sat down to write this blog post. From memory, I changed into this outfit after breakfast because it was far too hot still to wear this coat for too long yet but I wanted to shoot it to share with you. I have that type of skin where marks like that stay for a long time. Literally over an hour. I can see the marks from jean seams or even my own elbows on my leg if I’ve been leaning on them, all the time. It’s kind of annoying if I am shooting a bunch of outfits in a row. I have to plan the order of how I change looks based on which will leave me with marks. Jeans always get shot last. Silly little insight into my process, but there you go.
Are you at all interested in my work process or any insights on how I plan my content calendar or anything like that? I can imagine if at all, this would only be mildly interesting to fellow bloggers or marketers, so let me know if you want me to share some insight.
A BIT ABOUT HOW COMMISSION SALES WORK
Actually, one other thing I thought I should really explain is how commission sales work if you click on one of my commission links and buy an item via that link. It’s not something I’ve talked about before, but I’ve been getting a few questions about it in my DM’s lately. So, I might pop up a post explaining it all later this week. Purely in the interests of keeping things transparent and explaining how it all works. I honestly don’t earn much from them at all, but even $10-20 here and there can add up and make it easier for me to keep working on various content. The cost doesn’t get pushed onto the consumer, it’s more of an added bonus for me. Before I confuse you too much, I’ll explain clearly in a post this week.
The outfit I have on here was from one of my styling videos. If you have no idea what I am talking about, I’ve recently mixed things up and started to make styling videos on my Instagram using my #IGTV Channel. There I tend to style a few outfits quickly to a theme, showing outfit ideas and inspiration. One of the intentions for me was to show how easy it is to repeat wear key pieces regularly and that there should not be a stigma against doing so. Personally, I love to invest in wearable pieces that I will have for years and can be worn a lot of ways. That is something I talk about on this blog all the time. In fact, I feel like a broken record.
The videos are a fun way for me to demonstrate this and I’ve loved connecting with people over them. There have been mixed feelings about some of the styles (people don’t hold back in the comments!) but overall, it’s been a positive thing to share. I’m really excited about it and will continue to share them while the interest is there.
BLACK AND WHITE
This black and white look was one I had styled in a video on ways to wear cropped pants. I don’t always plan the outfits, I just pop pieces on the rack that I’m loving and decide once I start filming. One bonus of having wearable pieces in your wardrobe is that they often mix and match together effortlessly. This outfit definitely felt like it did exactly that so I couldn’t wait to wear it!
What do you guys think? Have you seen any of the style videos? Got a video request? Would love to hear your ideas below.
