The most beautiful weekend stay in the heart of Perth. The brand new Alex Hotel in Northbridge, Perth.
ALEX HOTEL PERTH
A few weeks ago I was treated, along with my Fit Club Perth co-founders to an excellent weekend spent in Northbridge at the new boutique hotel everyone in Perth is talking about, Alex Hotel. Alex Hotel, located just next to the Cultural Centre off of William Street, is not only the most beautiful location to date in Perth for a stay-cation, but a beautiful home away from home. The decor is world class, with the kinds of details that are normally reserved for the Kinfolk set, it is excellent to have a space like this in the heart of Perth.
I will start by saying that, although as I type this I am somewhere in Europe on our beautiful trip, this weekend spent in Perth was one of the best I have had, I loved it and will look back with the fondest of memories. This is the PERFECT weekend to have with friends.
WHAT TO DO NEARBY
The Fit Club Perth girls and myself were invited to create adventures with Alex Hotel in a girls weekend trip. Part of our itinerary included a tour of the William Street shopping strip- meeting with boutique owners at Northside Books, Merge, Ollie and Sons, Periscope, Ruck Rover, and finishing up with a cake shake treat at Tu, where we all fell in love with the fur ball pom poms to attach to your handbag (I have been using mine on each bag I swap to ever since I got it!). Later we headed to Yoga Alchemy (more on that beautiful place to come) for a yoga session, followed by a rooftop aperitivo complete with sharing a bottle of Champagne watching the sunset over the Perth CBD. The view, as you can see is stunning, opening up a part of the Perth skyline rarely seen before.
WHERE TO EAT
Taking the weekend adventures even further, we were treated to the MOST delicious dinner I have had the pleasure of eating in Perth in the longest time at The Standard, where we made our way through the best dishes, cocktails and desserts. Highlights from the menu included the Fava Chips, Heirloom Tomato Salad, Seafood Charcuterie, Beef Brisket, Passionfruit Parfait, and so much more. The cocktails are to die for, we were so lucky to test out a number of the new ones they were developing (to perfection!), this place is easily a new favourite spot of mine, I can not wait to go back and do it all again. The guys at The Standard were so attentive and proud of their menu that it felt like a real treat to dine there. I don’t say that lightly either!
THE COMMUNAL LOUNGE AT ALEX HOTEL
After a quick stop in at Jimmy’s Den and a solid hour of hitting the dance floor, we retired to the Alex for a cup of tea and chat. It was excellent to see so many people enjoying the communal lounge, playing a lively game of Jenga, listening to the record station and having a relaxed chat. I could spend a long time here cosily, it feels like home, but better. Rather than having a mini bar in the bedrooms, there is an honour system bar in the main lounge stocked with a range of beer, wine and complimentary tea and coffee.
BREAKFAST AT ALEX HOTEL
In the morning we rose to a beautiful continental breakfast, laid out in the dining room complete with all sorts of cereals, breads, condiments, muffins and fruit to start the day. I loved the attention to detail throughout the hotel, the breakfast being no exception. Before checking out we had a quick meeting over coffee from the espresso bar and lounge downstairs and then made sure to test out the Lekker bicycles parked neatly out the front of the hotel. It is details like these that make Alex Hotel that much more special, they have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and exciting at once.
I know I have added a lot of photos of our stay above, but just to add to that, check out the vlog that Adelle made of our weekend below- it takes you through all of these great places and makes me want to do it all over again when I get home!
