7 PIECES FOR A TRANSEASONAL AJE CAPSULE WARDROBE

Recently over on Instagram (@inspiringwit) you may have caught a little behind the scenes of a shoot I did with Aje at their Claremont Quarter store. Though this post wasn’t requested, I ended up loving the photos. The store is beautiful (actually, all of the Aje stores around Australia have a beautiful fit out). So, since I found so many beautiful pieces in their current collection, I thought I’d put together this capsule post. Aje is one of those stunning high-quality Australian brands that have gone from strength to strength. Their pieces are so wearable, it is easy to see why so many women are loyal to them. Be it for logo tees, leather mini skirts or jackets or event dresses, I see women wearing Aje all the time.

You might recall my many outfits with their leather mini skirts (I have one in black and one in tan), they go with everything! The following edit features 7 Aje pieces including accessories that form a transeasonal capsule wardrobe that is both on trend but easily become classic staples.

THE BLAZER

This stunning blazer above caught my eye right away. The belt buckle and gold buttons set it apart from any other blazer and instantly elevate it to a unique, high-end piece. Worn here as a dress, this one is so versatile. This fabric comes in matching high-waist pants or a mini skirt, so you can wear it as a suit or on its own. Versatility is everything when it comes to creating a capsule wardrobe, you want key pieces to mix and match and wear over and over. A blazer is one of the first things I think of when creating elegant outfits. Even worn over jeans, a blazer is instantly chic.

THE BLOUSE + LEATHER SKIRT + SHOULDER BAG

I loooooove a white shirt or blouse or tee. They easily take up the largest section in my wardrobe because I like options. At the moment I have really been into a statement sleeve detail and loved this beautiful soft blouse instantly. Another versatile piece to wear with pants and skirts or under a slip dress, the blouse is second on my capsule list.

Since I love their leather mini skirts, the knee length version is a beautiful piece for the transeasonal weather. Chic, elegant and a little bit rock and roll this is an investment that will remain a classic for years. Actually, I have a vintage leather pencil skirt or two that I’ve turned to for years. See evidence from an old blog post back here.

A shoulder bag is my first key capsule wardrobe accessory. Particularly a black one, that can accommodate a phone, cards, lipsticks, sunglasses and keys. This one can fit more of course, but those are my size requirements. I love this stunning statement black beading which instantly adds something to any outfit without taking all the limelight. Clever, no?

THE CABLE KNIT + ESPADRILLES + MIDI SKIRT

If you ever wanted proof that I love knitwear, it might be in the sheer number of photos I edited of me wearing this dreamy blush cable knit. In all honesty, this piece was the first I would purchase in this capsule wardrobe edit. But, as you can guess, I have A LOT of knitwear!

I love black midi skirts, this one is in the capsule because it actually doubles as a little black dress too. The waistband has a stretch detailing so it can be worn across the bust. This is exactly what I was talking about in relation to versatility. The ruffles are timeless, it’d be beautiful with a silk cami, blazer and heels or simply a tee and sneakers.

Speaking of shoes, no capsule wardrobe would be complete without a comfortable, versatile shoe. I love an espadrille, so I instantly loved these Aje signature espadrilles. The leather straps and stud details make it a little bit extra, but the colour goes with everything. I’d wear them all the time, so they naturally fit into a capsule.

Let me know what you think of these informative posts. I’m thinking I’ll do a few more, answering some of the common questions I get asked. This weekend I filmed a bunch of styling videos to share on IGTV, the first is up now, I’d love to hear your feedback. The first one is four ways to style a black slip dress. Somehow, which was a challenge to me, I styled 8 videos without using black skinny jeans or classic denim jeans. It surprised me how easy this was!

Looking forward to your thoughts! Thanks, guys!
