Continuing my 2019 Christmas Gift Guides with this edit for women, men, lifestyle, and kids ideas. I’ve scoured to find the best value gift ideas that I know you (and they) will love finding under the tree.
2019 CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE
We have precious little time before Christmas (less than two weeks) to finish up your shopping, it’s about time I shared my gift guide for men, kid’s, the home and women. These are lifestyle products which I know you will love giving.
All of the products I am recommending I have either been given as samples, loaned or I’ve bought. It’s been six weeks in the making to find the right gift ideas! None of this is sponsored, I wanted to find the best gifts so you can save some research time and gift well. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
WOMEN'S GIFTS - JEWELLERY
Jewellery: These are some of my favourite brands for stunning jewellery that will be worn for years to come. I was planning to share a post on ‘where I buy my jewellery’ soon, but here’s a taster!
Astley Clarke have been on my Christmas gift list in previous years and I am still in love.
Astley Clarke – Mille Bangle – People are always asking me about my bangle stack. I love layering these to really create a statement. Crafted from 18 carat yellow gold-plated sterling silver, this demi-fine Mille Bangle bracelet is a nod to the traditional decorative technique of millegrain.
Astley Clarke – Stilla Arc Bangle – Also crafted from 18 carat gold-plated sterling silver, the Stilla Arc bangle places spherical formations in the spotlight. It’s a statement on its own, or perfect for stacking.
Astley Clarke – Stilla Arc Bracelet – The Stilla Arc bracelet reimagines classic chain structures with refined beaded circle detailing. Newest to my bangle stack it is the perfect bracelet. Actually, it is also sold as a stack set.
Astley Clarke – White Sapphire Biography Signet Ring – This engravable Signet Ring from the demi-fine Biography collection, features a beautifully polished face, pavé white sapphire detailing and elegant tapered shoulders. It’s a modern take on a classic and I love that Astley Clarke offer free engraving with your order.
Astley Clarke – Linia Rainbow Moonstone Choker Necklace – Enhanced with ethereal rainbow moonstones on an 18 carat gold plated sterling silver chain, the choker can also be worn as a necklace. I have this one on as I type! It’s beautiful to layer with or wear as a delicate piece on its own.
Astley Clarke – Celestial Sunrise Locket Necklace – A truly special piece, this locket is beyond beautiful. I wear mine close to my heart as inside it has a photo of me with my Nana. The engravable photo locket necklace features a sunrise motif inspired by the navigational instruments used in early voyages of discovery. Showcasing a central white sapphire, with sandblasted rays of 18 carat gold-plated sterling silver stretching outwards, this meaningful necklace is perfect for layering and evokes the feeling of plotting a course with a little help from the stars. The locket has a hinge opening to allow for a photograph or keepsake to be stored inside – simply upload a cherished image when ordering and Astley Clarke will print and fit it into the locket for free. They will also engrave the back of the locket for free too. So this is really the most incredible gift someone can wear forever and pass on within their family.
Astley Clarke – Linia Rainbow Moonstone Open Ring – A sweet ring for everyday, the Linia ring has two faceted moonstones adorning each end of the open band, held by unique structures.
APM Monaco have recently been introduced to me. With stores around the world, including across Australia – I’ve yet to pop into the Perth store, they are very well known. The family owned brand APM Monaco is synonymous with creativity, fashion and the chicness of Monaco.
APM Monaco – Unisex White Geometric Cuff – Yellow Silver – This beautiful Sterling silver geometric cuff is paved with white zirconia stones. Perfect to wear alone or layer with other bangles in a stack or with a watch. This one is new to my collection and I love the eye-catching statement of the stones and geometric pattern.
APM Monaco – Pearl & Star Eternelle Choker – This stunning silver choker evokes elegance. The Sterling silver, freshwater pearl and Micropaved zirconia stones are the perfect statement for an evening gown look or something special to dress up a crew neck tee and blazer look.
Wanderlust & Co. are one of my favourite affordable jewellery brands. The quality is beautiful and even better is the range, featuring thoughtful and pretty pieces that are for everyday or to wear as a statement.
Wanderlust & Co. – La Luna Gold Necklace – One of my favourite necklaces to wear is this tarot card inspired piece. The 14K gold plated necklace features moon-phases carefully hand painted in ivory enamel above a moon-struck landscape represents dreams and intuition. The words ‘La Luna’, which means ‘The Moon’ is etched at the bottom of this beveled edge pendant.
Wanderlust & Co. – L’etoile Gold Earrings – A miss-matched dainty statement, these earrings are crafted with moons and stars on each sides, the cascading drops of wishing stars and cubic zirconia stones. The perfect thing to wear with hair pulled back so they capture the shine.
Wanderlust & Co. – Kaia Stardust Necklace – Taking a break from gold, the Kaia Stardust necklace features a statement pendant encrusted with cubic zirconia stones. The cubic zirconia accents are faceted in pear, baguette, marquise, oval and square cuts, strung together with a delicate chain, and studded with raised star motifs. It’s pretty alone or worn as a layered necklace.

WOMEN'S GIFTS - FASHION
Fashion items can be a tricky gift to give but it is very doable! I love to give beautiful classic pieces for her to wear over and over for years to come. This might include knitwear, leather goods like a handbag, boots or a belt, a dress or loungewear. Below are some of my picks this year. It is also one example of a way you can potentially introduce someone to a new more sustainable fashion brand. I’ve highlighted a couple below.
Odd Molly want to help its customers to dress more sustainably and offer a distinctive design concept with sustainable materials, high quality and a long lifespan. Something I am impressed with are their efforts to disclose thier production, social and environmental responsibilities and set a good example. I love wearing beautiful knitwear as much as I can. Unfortunately I’m probably not going to get a lot of wear out of them in a while, as we head into summer. However, I love turning to knitwear on cool mornings and evenings in summer and of course, I wear them during the rest of the year.
Odd Molly – A Whole Lot of Love Knit – This beautiful knit from Swedish brand Odd Molly with it’s relaxed boxy fit, v-neckline and cute puff sleeve with ruffle details is one example. It’s the most lovely thing to wear, with jeans or a skirt, it makes a beautiful gift. Beautiful!
Everlane is another brand I love and go-to all the time for beautiful classic pieces made as sustainably as they can. They also disclose details about how they manufacture, where the clothes are made and materials sourced.
I went into a lot of detail in this blog post on three classic pieces from Everlane to gift. Pictured here are their classic oversized blazer, Day market Tote bag and jeans.
You might notice I wear a lot of pieces from the UK brand Boden, who make beautiful, wearable and classic pieces. They are designed to last, be worn again and again. As for sustainability, they are definitely working to embed a sustainable approach into every part of the Boden business. One example, in 2018, Boden became members of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) as part of their commitment to source 100% more sustainable cotton before 2025.
Boden – Fair Isle Jumper – Another playful idea is a beautiful colourful knit like the one I am wearing below. It’s timeless, fun and beautiful.
Boden – Vanessa Cosy Pyjamas – Finally, one more cute but practical gift idea is a set of pyjama’s she will love for years to come. These are sweet for Christmas but warm to wear all winter too.
Books make the best gifts! Give them a break from technology and a chance to delve into a different world. I’ve just spent a week with one of these books and loved being absorbed in that world. This is also how I plan to spend the holiday break!
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart – Holly Ringland – I just finished reading this one and almost essentially read it in two sittings. I couldn’t put this Australian fiction story down!
The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern – One that a handful of people suggested to me when I recently asked for book reccomendations on Instagram stories. I’m excited to read this one.
The Secret Commonwealth – The Book of Dust : Volume 2 – Phillip Pullman – The latest in the Book of Dust series, I am SO excited to get stuck into this one! If you have someone on your list who appreciates a fantasy novel, get them onto this series!
The Handmaid’s Tale – Margaret Atwood – One of the biggest best sellers, Margaret Atwood is Canada’s most eminent novelist, poet and critic. This one needs little introduction but it makes a good little gift for anyone who’s yet to read it.
Papier – 2019 Diary – I adore anything personalised, in case you hadn’t noticed already and have a few stationary pieces from UK brand Papier. The range is endless so you can easily find something to suit all personalities. This collection is a collaboration with Olivia Purvis, one of my favourite UK bloggers. Inside it has weekly, monthly and yearly overviews, plus plenty of space for all your goals, important dates and to-dos. Make sure to personalise the cover with their name.
Papier – Favourite Things Notebook – Chose whether you want lined, dotted or plain paper inside, personalise the cover with a name, a fun title, an alter ego or a special tribute! I love these notebooks, they have so many designs but I loved this one, again its from the collaboration with Olivia, the icons or favourite things on the cover are so cool!!
Here is where things get colourful and a bit cute in the Christmas gift guide! Each year, there seem to be more and more kid’s on our gift list. To be fair, they make Christmas more exciting so I kind of love it. This year our list was hefty! So here are just some of the toy gifts I found after doing a little sleuthing. Aka, I went through a toy catalogue with four kids across various ages asking them what was cool! hehe It worked and I found presents I can not wait to see them enjoy.
I’m not personally so into toy gifts, I just think about landfill, you know, where the toys will end up. Toys can also come with a lot of throwaway packaging! But, so many of the toys that the kids play with when we are over are old ones they were handed down. So, I hope the same thing can be true of these, that the toys can be played with by future generations. I wonder if kids are less into toys these days? Maybe they are more into technology gifts?! iPads and the like? Maybe. Perhaps some parents can elighten me.
All the same, I love playing with the kids and seeing how they use their imaginations with toys, so ultimately here we are.
Hot Wheels by Mattel – Monster Trucks Cool Crashers Pack – Four assorted monster truck themed trucks for racing around and you know, crashing.
Hot Wheels by Mattel – Vehicle Assortment Pack – Collectable cars for racing on and off the track. Priced under $10.
Hot Wheels by Mattel – Monster Trucks Mecha Shark Face-Off Playset – Hot Wheels have a series of shark themed playsets, where the winners survive and everyone else is eaten by a shark! Includes 2 x Hot Wheels 1:64 scale Monster Trucks, a menacing mechanical shark and circular arena with a large trophy cup in the centre for two player battles.
Disney Frozen 2 – Anna Doll – Dressed in her new outfit with very cute boots, this doll is pretty cute for ages 3 and up.
Polly Pocket Playset – One of two playsets that open up to reveal a fun Polly Pocket world inside to explore and find some hidden surprises. Priced under $30 each.
Creatable World by Mattel – Deluxe Character Kit – The 30 cm doll wears a tank and shorts has a short haircut and comes with six items of clothing three pairs of shoes, two additional accessories and a long-haired wig. All versatile pieces that give kids the freedom to make their characters whoever they want them to be. I love the concept of these inclusive dolls which I think can teach kids about inclusivity and break down some sterotypes.
Barbie – Care Clinic Playset – This ambulance vehicle instantly transforms into a hospital playset, fully equipped for medical assistance and checkups. Turn on the ambulance siren and lights with the push of a button. Then lift the lever in back to reveal the clinic, with check-in station, waiting room, and exam room. Flip down the television to open the gift shop – and slide the lever on the x-ray machine to transform it into a vision chart. All 20+ pieces fit back into the vehicle, so all they need is to bring their favourite dolls.
Pokemon Trading Card Game – Assorted cards – 60 per deck for all of those times the kids ask to play Pokemon with you and you have to learn all over again how the game works! Oh, just me?! I swear over the years I’ve played this game a dozen times but I have no idea what is going on! And, by the end of the game, I suss out how it’s supposed to work and that the kids cheated!! Haha. Every time. The game might be lost on me but the staying power of the Pokemon card game is something I can vouch for. My brother (who is now in his 30’s) just showed me the box of Pokemon cards he found from his childhood, so they have been around a while! Priced at $20 per deck, it’s a game that doesn’t cost the earth but they always want more cards for the collection!
Lego – City Sets – Create realistic buildings or vehicles and live any adventure the kids can imagine. Just like a real city. There are a bunch of sets available in the City range. SO much to choose from and at various price points.
Lego – Hidden Side – So this is basically a Lego meets tech gift. While they can build and play traditionally, link up a parents phone by downloading the app and discover a hidden virtual world where your Lego comes to life.
Lego – Ideas Central Perk – Know any big kids or Friends fans? The nostalgic Lego Ideas set is perfect for them! A fun set which includes all seven friends and their local hangout. I know a few people who would love this!
When it comes to men’s gifts, I can find myself scratching my head, wondering what will really be appreciated. No matter how many times I hear “I don’t really want anything” I kinda still want to find something they will actually love and use. Hopefully, these ideas take out some of the guesswork.
Kicking off with fragrances and skincare. I love giving them something that they will use but might never have thought of for themselves. Recently, I seem to have more and more conversations with guys about their skin. They all ask me for advice on what to try and I think there are a few places to start that can be less daunting and break things down if they care to do some research. This was what Mario did when I suggested he try The Ordinary, Peter Thomas Roth masks and a few more. His skin is finally looking brighter, a lot less congested and he has less breakouts. And boy, they got pretty bad. In the new year I might do a bit of a special on mens skincare using him as an example. After all, I am here to help.
Azzaro – Wanted by Night Car Set – A 50ml Eau de Parfum with explosive woody-oriental-spicy accords and an impossibly elegant bottle. With top notes of Cinnamon and Mandarin and base notes od Cedarwood, Tobacco and Cypress. Set comes in a collectable race car tin with a Hair and Body Shampoo.
Jo Malone London – Cologne – The Jo Malone London colognes and cologne intense releases are always so cool. They are great alone or combined.
Peter Thomas Roth – Irish Moor Mud Mask – Okay, so, I gave this one to Mario (even though I loved it too!!) and he has used it three times a week for about a month. His skin has improved so much! It’s visibly more clear, and more glowing. This mask features Volcanic Ash and Charcoal contain healing Minerals that detoxify and revitalise the skin. It draws out trapped impurities and toxins from clogged pores ultimately reducing the appearance of enlarged pores.
Black Chicken – Axilla Deodorant Paste – After a lot of testing of various natural deodorant products, Mario finally landed on this one from Black Chicken Remedies. I think he has been using this one for a year and it works the best. I have been known to use it too, put prefer a paste in a roll on format. Free of the potentially hazardous aluminum compounds found in most mainstream deodorants, Axilla Deodorant Paste instead looks to natural botanicals to neutralise odours and absorb moisture. A little goes a long way so it lasts without having an overwhelming scent. It’s such a good gift for any man who doesn’t want to use (or could be persueded to try) aluminium free deodorant.
Moving on to skincare, why not gift him a set of effective, affordable and approachable skincare products to improve (or start!) his routine.
The Ordinary – Squalane Cleanser – Designed to complement all routines and all skin types. Inspired by the efficacy of oil cleansers, The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser uses a blend of squalene and skin-similar esters for a more gentle, more smoothing effect. Mario and I have both been using this one, as I keep stealing some of his! It removes makeup for me so I keep using it! But, this one is an affordable, non-drying cleanser perfect for men’s skin. While hydrating and balancing this cleanser doesn’t leave skin feeling tight, so it’s gentle enough for first time cleansers.
The Ordinary – Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution – Designed to target textural irregularities and lackluster tone, contains 7% Glycolic Acid, Amino Acids, Aloe Vera, Ginseng and Tasmanian Pepperberry. Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates the skin. It helps fight breakouts and keeps skin looking bright. Use after cleansing before serums and moisturising.
The Ordinary – Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% – Perfect for a man suffering with oily skin or breakouts! Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a high strength, vitamin and mineral-based formula for blemishes. Use as a serum after toning and before moisturer.
Of course, men’s fashion and tech gift ideas are always welcomed. I’m just covering some of the basics that I know any man would wear and use a lot.
Dr. Martens – 1460 8 Eye Boots – I think most guys have always wanted a pair of these classic boots. They are bestsellers and have been for a loooong time. It’s easy to see why. Built to last, these iconic Doc Martens boots are impenetrable to wear due to heat-sealed Goodyear welting. The smooth leather uppers sit on the brand’s patented, slip-resistant AirWair sole. The Aztec brown cowhide leather is just cool enough to look worn but will change and develop in character with wear too.
Uniqlo – Chino Shorts – These affordable 100% Cotton shorts are so wearable that you can afford to gift more than one pair. Like most Uniqlo men’s options, they come in a bunch of different colours to mix and match with shirts and tees. Perfect for summer! Their linen shirts are the coolest match for them too.
TECH & RECREATIONAL GIFTS
Apple – iPhone 11 – The video and picture quality of these new iPhone 11 Pro phones is crazy!! I keep borrowing Mario’s to film and shoot with because it beats mine. Love that it comes in some cool colours like Midnight Green too. A big investment gift but I can see how good this one is. And yeah, I am going to want to upgrade early!
Apple – Airpods With Wireless Case – Combines intelligent design with breakthrough technology and crystal-clear sound. Powered by the new Apple H1 headphone chip, AirPods now feature hands-free access to Siri using just your voice. I feel like everyone already has or wants these and having seen how useful they are for Mario, I can see why. They are so clever!
Apple – Watch Nike S5 44mm – If you are looking to get active, this takes you to the next level by encouraging you to keep going. If you have an iPhone, it’s a seamless transtition. It has a swimproof design so you can even track your swimming. Handy in summer but something they will wear every day year around.
The Nomad – Modern Leather Strap – And if you want to personalise the Apple watch even more, these leather watch straps are beautiful, they can be swapped quickly and effortlessly and looks sleek. Priced under $100.00
STM Goods – Wireless Powerbank – This wireless charger is compatible with your iPhone, Samsung, or other Qi enabled device. The unit also features a standard USB-A port to charge other digital devices with your cable. Convenient suction cups provide the ability to attach the PowerBank to your device for portability. This thing is a gem!
RDX Sports – T6 MMA Sparring Gloves – Hand crafted to stubbornly resist wear and tear, these MMA training gloves will last an age and boast triple layered shock resistance, awesome grip and breathability, plus a unique palm design to ensure first class punching technique. By correctly aligning wrist with fist for every punch, these powerful gloves will protect your hands from injury. These are light, allow you to grapple and of course boxing is such a good workout!!
Born A Crime – Trevor Noah – One of the best autobiographies I’ve read, I love gifting this book!! Born under apartheid to a black South African mother and a white European father, Trevor Noah’s improbable rise to stardom led to his sold-out one-man show at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival that became one of the most talked-about shows at the festival that year. In 2015 Noah succeeded Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show. The inspiring coming-of-age story of Trevor Noah, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed is one that I had trouble putting down. Better still, it gave me an insight into that whole situation which I’d never learned enough about.
FOR THE HOME
As with the tech and recreaitional gifts, these are all things that could be personalised to male or female so I thought I’d add them to a ‘for the home’ category! I love gifting things for the home or office, as long as they have a use. Nicknacks annoy me to no end. However, practical gifts can be great when you just don’t want to waste money on something that won’t get used!
Palm Beach – Christmas Balsam & Fir Candle – Who doesn’t love a Christmas candle? I love the fun scents that come out at this time of year. This one is now almost half finished, I’ve been burning it so often. With top notes of Citrus, Bergamot and Nutmeg and base notes of Spice, Balsam, Vanilla, Cinnamon and Wood it is so lovely!
Palm Beach – Christmas Balsam & Fir hanging bauble – This cute bauble has a hand cream with top notes of Citrus, Bergamot and Nutmeg. If you love the candle so much, why not add this bauble to the mix!
Palm Beach – Christmas Prosecco Rose Mini Diffuser – is perfect for that friend who loves prosecco. For me, her name is Jess. :) With top notes of Lemon-Lime Fizz, Tangerine, Bergamot, Currant and Red Apple Peels and base notes of Fruity Musk, Vanilla Bean and Cinnamon Stick.
Glasshouse – Christmas Triple Scented Candle – It’s not like I officially have a favourite or anything, but if you look around my apartment, there are more Glasshouse candles than any other. I love their triple scented candles and luxe jars. With a long burn time and range of unique Christmas scents, there are plenty of options to choose from. They are such beautiful gifts.
Glasshouse – Lost In Amalfi & Marseille Memoir 50ml Hand Cream Duo – This new formulation hand cream is enriched with Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Rosehip Oil and Aloe Vera, to leave hands soft and fragrant. This boxed gift set is a beautiful idea to gift a loved one. They can keep one in their bag and one on their bedside. I would!
Louvelle Australia – Riva Hair Towel – After the shower or a dip, dry hair with the Riva hair towel wrap to wick away moisture fast. It’s also gentle on delicate hair fibres, to minimise friction and frizz and our hair is most fragile when wet. And did I mention these were listed as one of Oprah’s favourite things?!
Louvelle Australia – Brigitte Peach Blossom and Honey Shower Gel – A non-drying wash enriched with anti-inflammatory and moisturising pro-vitamin B5. Paraben free, sulphate free, cruelty free. Lovely for long summer days.
Shhhowercap – The Point Cap – With plenty of pattern designs, these modern shower caps are not only chic but make the coolest little gift. This “waterproof turban” is made with premium nano-tech fabric that repels water molecules on contact, sealing out moisture and humidity that can damage your hair and ruin your ‘do. Not just for the shower, you can wear this stylish hair accessory to the pool, beach, spa, or anywhere else your hair needs protecting. I know so many people who would use one of these! It’s cute and practical.
Williams Sonoma – Peppermint Bark – The once-a-year favorite is crafted using the finest ingredients, including custom-blended Guittard chocolate and triple-distilled oil of peppermint. This “bark” is finished with a snowfall of peppermint candy pieces. Everyone loves a bit of this!! Perfect to gift someone hosting a Christmas event or to take as a fun after meal treat to share.
Haigh’s Chocolates – Christmas Pudding Brandy Truffle Box – I love these!! Gah, though you can order online, I have yet to do it so any time I get over to Adelaide or the East Coast, I try to call in for some Haigh’s. It is in my opinion the best chocolate in the world. Nothing comes close! These Christmas Pudding Brandy Truffles are one thing I am always keen to get my hand on every Christmas. So SO SO good! classic soft chocolate truffle flavoured with brandy, Christmas spices and double coated in our premium dark chocolate. Plus, how cute are they!? There are so many special gift ideas in the Christmas range too, I just can’t resist these!
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS
So there you have it! Another year, another epic load of gift guides for the people in your life. As you can tell, I really love putting these together. Haha, in truth, I’ve worked on them for over six weeks so I am exhausted when it comes to gifts! As I have mentioned many times before, these are either items I’ve bought or kindly been sent as press samples to try and to include in these guides. I pick VERY carefully what I include, trying to cover all budgets, people to gift to and aim not to double up where I can.
Below, find the links to all of the other gift guides I’ve been sharing this year. Please let me know what jumps out for you that you will be adding under your tree this year. I’ll be back to sharing my regular fashion, travel and beauty posts after this Christmas special. I’ve enjoyed them, I hope you have too.
Before I sign off with this guide, I’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas! xx Jenelle
