Comfortable, flattering and made to show off your shoes. How to wear wide leg denim jeans.
Here we are in December. Say WHAT?! How did that happen?? While I am probably still thinking about the things I set as tasks for myself in January (hello YouTube…), we are almost ready for 2018.
Today, in Australia marks the first day of summer. That long, hot, drawn-out beast that I look forward to, but tend to get over a month in. So far though, so good. I am stocked up with summer dresses, sunscreen and even new swim gear. Until it actually heats up here though, I’ll still be wearing my jeans…
HOW TO WEAR WIDE LEG DENIM
As much as I love my skinny denim jeans, there are times when, to be honest, I am just over them. Though admittedly, they are still more or less the first things I reach for, I often need a skinny-jean break. Enter wide leg denim, this one in a crop style.
Any sort of cropped denim is in my mind made for showing off shoes! So, not only are these as comfortable as your pyjama pants (our little secret!), they are also a shoe lovers dream. If you are at all like me, I have a lot of beautiful shoes to wear, so I try to make the most of finding ways to show them off.
Having said that, I am fully aware that these slides I am wearing I have probably worn in 60% of my outfit shoots to share on Inspiring Wit or Instagram this year. Oops! It is rather obvious how comfortable these are. If you don’t already have a pair, just try some on and you will fall for them. Trust me.
Apart from their ability to highlight your footwear of choice, wide leg jeans are great with relaxed tees, cute cami tops and made for pretty bohemian blouses. Personally, I also like to match them with long menswear-inspired blazers or oversized jumpers too. Either create a cool kind of silhouette.

This particular pair of wide leg denim jeans are from my pals at Bohemian Traders. They have quite a bit of stretch in them, so bare this in mind when you are opting for sizing. They are super forgiving and flattering, so ideal for a range of body shapes.
Would you wear them?
