Not something I wear all that often, trying out a white on white look with white jeans.
ON WEARING WHITE ON WHITE
One thing I realise I have a lot of hanging in my wardrobe is white tops and shirts. I love wearing them with jeans, but I usually reach for my classic blue jeans before anything else. White jeans? While they are something I have in there somewhere, I never wear them. White on white is such a fresh look that I think can work equally in summer and in cooler months.
To be fair, I don’t tend to feel 100% comfortable in white jeans because I feel like they make my thighs look bigger and frankly, it makes me uncomfortable. Should I really care? Not so much. The truth of the matter is that some bodies come with slight thighs and others are different. My hang-ups are my own and I just have to feel confident. In general, if there is an area I feel less confident about, I try to dress to make that area less in your face.
Today, however, I am clearly giving white jeans a go and I actually like this look. These straight cut boyfriend style jeans are a good compromise, not drawing too much attention to my thigh area. The distressed detail makes it just relaxed enough. So relaxed that I didn’t bother with shoes.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
This white on white look is another that we shot when we visited Bohemian Traders HQ (click back to read more). While checking out the new Bohemian Traders collections, my eye fell on both this top and crop jacket immediately. The embroidered details are so beautiful I couldn’t skip past them. The blouse is one for everyday wear with jeans, adding a relaxed romantic touch to tough denim fabric. I fell for the beautiful button-up detailing at the back as well. It’s all so pretty!
This adorable crop jacket Em told me was inspired by a vintage red jacket she had bought years before in Paris. The embroidered detail just makes it even better. I loved the neutral camel colour and would wear over dresses or as I have done here. Adding the jacket takes this relaxed summer look into the cooler transitional season and through to autumn.
So, how do you guys wear white jeans? Got any style tips or ideas? I’d love for you to share them with me.
