A slight update on animal print, the tiger stripe print I am in love with, trend or not.
I did an interview this week which asked me about trends. In general, I’d like to think that I avoid shopping or adding into my wardrobe based on trends. For me it isn’t sustainable enough and I really don’t love buying things that I get over a few months later.
THE TIGER STRIPE PRINT
But the whole animal print thing I admit I have embraced. First, with the Realisation Par Naomi Wild Things skirt that you will have all seen me wear (and I reviewed back here). Next with this tiger stripe print silk skirt from one of my favourite brands, Rixo London. This is one that I hit order on as soon as my size came in! Literally, I added this to my cart as soon as I saw it. The colour, the print, the fabric, it instantly checked boxes. I’d seen the same style skirt in a previous collection in a much brighter rainbow print which was just not for me. A neutral though, I know I will continue wearing.
Unfortunately, I ended up having it hang in my closet for a couple of months until I could get it altered to fit (the XS was as small as I could go but it was sadly far too big on me). Finally, over Christmas and after Mum took it in for me, I got to make the most of it!
And make the most of it I sure have done. This particular day was a beautiful day trip to the Adelaide Hills with my family for wine tastings and lunch.

Obviously, I’ve just been styling this tiger stripe print skirt with a basic tee, as you can see. I love it with a soft knit jumper, tucked into the front or an oversized black blazer when it’s a bit cooler. I’d love to know if you are into the tiger stripe print? What about snake print? Personally, I am afraid of snakes, so that is an animal print I will leave alone! Let me know what your go-to’s are for a print at the moment.
