Before I launch into a steady stream of gift guides later this week (note, this will be a great go-to source for you to nail your Christmas shopping and make sure you pick up some Cyber Week steals), I thought we could delve into how to make the most of the rest of 2016.
I am inclined to think that everyday counts. Do you agree?
HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF THE REST OF THE YEAR
Tip 1: Set goals.
I generally do this at the begging of each month, but at the moment, I feel like week by week counts for a lot! Ask yourself, what have you not achieved yet that you wanted to this year? Now is the time! Hop to it!
Tip 2: Organise your calendar.
Write down and add to your digital calendar when you RSVP for any events, meetings or appointments. Then suss out when and where you have time for picking up Christmas gifts/ food/ etc and mark those into your calendars too. Don’t forget that reminders a week prior can make sure you don’t miss cut off times for postage or businesses closing up for the year.
Tip 3: Health checks.
Book appointments to see the dentist, doctor, chiropractor, optometrist etc. If you have a private health fund, make sure you get in and use up the benefits before they reset next year. (Good time to stock up on contact lenses). Plus, do not slack off on your workouts!
Tip 4: Declutter.
Make sure you have had a mega declutter day. I talk about spring cleaning a lot, but I believe that we work much better when we have a clutter free space. Make sure you go through and declutter your inbox, your office, home and car. I am reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo at the moment and I love her method! Has anyone read it?
Tip 5: Show some self love.
Give yourself half a day of ‘you’ time to unwind. Don’t dwell on the past year, nor let yourself freak out about the future. Just be present in the moment and do something that you find relaxing. Get a facial, take a long nap (or sleep in!), meditate or just dance alone to your favourite music.
These are pretty easy to achieve right?
I think that the key is living in the present and making sure you write notes and keep up with your calendar. The next few weeks are going to slip by quickly if you let them, but you can turn them into your best few weeks of the year.
Sound good? Let’s do it!
