One of the key finishing touches that lift my outfits are metallics. Four looks that reveal my obsession.
FOUR OUTFITS THAT REVEAL I AM METALLICS OBSESSED
Sartorially speaking, I have noticed that there is a particular accessory that I lean on to lift my outfits. A metallic detail adds something extra to one of my understated looks (aka plain tees, jeans and a black blazer) or creates a conversation starter. If I have at least one piece on that draws the eye, I will quickly feel more put together and polished.
SLOGAN TEE + MIDI SKIRT + METALLIC SHOES
You aren’t exactly strangers to my favourite pumps, I feel like I have worn these very seldom since I got them, but they have probably been photographed each time. These gold on gold Gucci pumps are certainly a splurge- which is where balancing it out with lower priced pieces from Topshop seems more cost effective. At least, I like to mix that high and low. Actually, come to think of it, this skirt is a similar story- I haven’t had that many occasions to wear it, but somehow managed to shoot it at least four times for the blog. Sorry about that! Haha, when I like something…
CASUAL JEANS + TEE + BOMBER + METALLIC CLUTCH
A casual outfit can easily be elevated with a metallic clutch. The choice of colour is really a personal one. Most people would not really be so into purple, I assume. This though, caught my attention and I decided it was worth injecting an unexpected colour into what is largely a pretty minimal palette.

LEATHER JACKET + CAMI + METALLIC PLEATED SKIRT
Another wardrobe favourite. This pleated metallic skirt is something I have reached for time and again. You have seen it back here in that stunning metallic pink and with stripes and silver here. I guess this entire blog post is just proof that I buy something and repeat wear it as much as I can to get my use out of it! Rather than a small touch, a metallic skirt has always served me well. Need one more example… here is one from the archives years ago. (And if you are wondering, yes, I still would wear that outfit four years later and I still own each item!).

METALLIC CLUTCH + METALLIC DETAIL SHOES + JEANS + TOP
Last, but not least, double metallics. I love to find shoes with a metallic touch, be they studs, buckles or another beautiful detail, or heck even a little glitter (see here). Keep the rest of the look fairly simple and make the metallics the key focus to your outfit. Though, playing with proportions such as elongated sleeves or pant lengths is always a good idea!
