While I am not always so big on ‘trends’ (I prefer to stick to my self made uniform and add in a little vintage), I can always appreciate a summer dress. The Belmto off the shoulder dress that is perfect for the Perth summer weather!
WHY YOU NEED AN OFF THE SHOULDER DRESS
I think every year I realise over winter I donated away one of my summer go-to dresses. (Gah!) This means I am always needing to pick up one or two simple, comfortable summer dresses. Almost always in blue it seems! Dresses are the best way to breeze through those super hot days and give the shorts/ playsuits a rest. Of course the bonus with most is if I actually wanted to I could dress the look up with a heel and feel a little bit fancier. I’m not going to lie- most of the time I wouldn’t bother! Instead, I would simply switch the sneakers or espadrilles for a cuban heeled boot. That’s just me, just casually.
I am not sure how much I love that the off the shoulder style is really big right now. I tend to cringe at the thought of being very on trend, but this Belmto silk dress was too nice a dress to pass up. Belmto is a new label of silk essentials at a good price point. Since I get asked a lot about where to find versatile dresses, I thought I’d give it a plug and let you know that it is worth checking out (there is a red dress just screaming out to be worn for valentines day!).
The off the shoulder trend is not going away anytime soon! It is a flattering style, so embrace it.
ON ANOTHER NOTE…
Enough about dresses! So what else is new? All this week I have been getting out to a ton of classes with Classpass from yoga to power plates so I am feeling invigorated and motivated to have a good week to follow. There is a little more on this over on the Fit Club Perth blog.
Earlier in the week I was able to check out the new beach front cafe Odyssea at City Beach (tip: get in before a gross crowd moves in!) and see Limbo at the Fringe. I keep telling people to go see it, as it was one of the best shows I have seen at a Fringe event in a long time. The performers were insane and the music was seriously cool! Elizabeth Quay opened last weekend, I have only visited for a show, so I feel like I’ll have to head back one morning and maybe do some exploring, the walking bridge seems pretty impressive. Perth readers- has anyone been down there yet? What did you think?
