Summer styling with August Street. My Summer is…
Backtracking a few weeks to my trip over to Sydney with Lion In The Wild’s Kiara and Illias Fashion’s Emily, we were delighted to visit the head quarters of one of Australia’s leading contemporary labels August Street. I was blown away by the August Street team, the design studio and their forward thinking social media marketing.
August Street asked what summer means to us and to style their collection with this in mind. My Summer is all about long days spent hanging out in the park under trees picnicking, sharing laughs, painting and enjoying some down time with great music.
Styling our picks from the upcoming Summer collection was a lot of fun. There was so much to love and perfect pieces to work into the existing wardrobe for a summer update. Being drawn to crisp neutrals I found great silhouettes by the way of wide legged trousers, spaghetti strap cami tops and incredible shorts. (Oh those shorts!)
Of course, it can’t all be about block colouring, even I love a great statement print and the collection had a lot of stunning designs to choose from. I finally settled on a slightly grunge mirrored print which I have not stopped thinking about since. (Apparently #mysummeris not complete without that print and possibly those white wide-legged pants!)
On hand for the finishing touches were Alias Mae and Spring Court shoes (perfect slides and classic French sneakers) Lack of Color hats (I ended up using one of the Montana Midnight Muses which I already own, I can not get enough!), issues of Catalogue Magazine, Red Earth cosmetics and the Bondi Sands bronzing range.
I have since gone on to use some of these Bondi Sands and Red Earth products and have been hugely impressed, so naturally I will make sure I get around to doing another beauty review soon.
