A quick outfit idea post with a classic mini skirt and boots combo plus an unexpected crop trench jacket.
After a half-day drive, we recently found ourselves up north in Jurien Bay. We made it just in time to set up our tent and take in the golden hour over on the jetty before dinner. And what a beautiful golden hour it was. Windy but warm enough given it was toward the end of winter, I was glad to stretch my legs and feel that sea breeze. You can’t beat it!
There are times when even a mini-break for a day or two recharge my batteries and stoke the appreciation for the local landscape. Though I’m not a huge fan of heading north from Perth, the beaches can be pretty and are mostly very quiet. This time around we went on a couple of walks looking for wildflowers and managed to see a few. To get to the really impressive ones you do have to keep driving more north than I’d wished to, however. For those fields of pink wildflowers, you have to commit to a longer trip but work was calling me back home.
MINI SKIRTS AND BOOTS IN WINTER
While we were there I bugged Mario to take a few photos for me (and managed to get a couple of nice ones of my parents who were visiting). I’d been wearing this mini skirt and boots combo all day on our travels. Skirts with boots are a good road trip outfit! It allows for changes in weather without feeling stuck in jeans for long times on the journey.
This winter I’ve been trying to wear mini skirts as per usual by pairing them with boots. So far the over the knee boots have served me best. But a couple of combat style boots like these from Next and another pair from Boden (which you can spot on my Instagram @inspiringwit ) have also done the trick. To be honest, I just love the juxtaposition between masculine and feminine of an edgy boot with a silk mini skirt.
Let me know what you think of this combo below!
