Another one of those ‘never say never’ moments. Making a case for corduroy.
70’s inspired bits and pieces just seem to find their merry way into my wardrobe, or so it seems. Once a fabric that reminded me of a storybook bear, then my somewhat daggy science teacher, corduroy is a welcome street style addition.
MAKING A CASE FOR CORDUROY
Moving past all the animal print trending like crazy, corduroy is everywhere at the moment. Perfect for the transitional season, cord is at home in either autumn or spring. Wide leg pants, boxy blazers, mini skirts, boots and even shopper style bags, the choices are kind of endless. So too, are the colour options! Though, I prefer the muted tones to the bright tones. Corduroy is really easy to style too. With silk, denim or a cotton tee, it’s a light but warm fabric that instantly looks cool.
This blush pink suit caught my attention right away. Find the blazer here and trousers here. I’ve talked about one of my favourite UK brands Boden a heap of times now, most recently here. So, when I saw this suit in their new arrivals, I was all over it.
HOW TO STYLE CORDUROY SUIT PIECES SEPARATELY
Styling the blazer and pants separately? Easy! I’ve paired the blazer with a white silk shirt and blue jeans. The pants with a graphic tee and black leather jacket. Nice and simple. One more idea is to keep things tonal with a pink chunky knit. Now that I am mentioning it, I should probably shoot these looks for you guys soon! Watch out for an update over on Instagram throughout spring.
I’m going to keep this post brief since so many have been long lately! As always, I hope you are well and if you have any questions for me- or things you’d like me to style or hunt down, let me know below!
