WHY I AM WEARING BLUE
Blues have always been in my life. Perhaps naturally I always felt this sense of rebellion wearing blue. As in, ‘hold up, why is “blue for boys” and “pink for girls”‘. Growing up I loved pink and purple, until I decided to rebel against it in favour of blue and finding a balance between masculine and feminine.
At times blue felt like the perfect way to adopt a rebellious attitude. Big rebel huh?
Along the way, I fell more in love with the perfect indigo dyes, faded wash blue denims and wore them with pride. Even my college school uniform was blue, white and gold, which for me could not have been more perfect. When they wanted you to buy a grey jumper in our final year I would have none of it, sticking to my beloved navy v-neck knit. Actually I wish I could share a photo of this with you– a sea of grey knits and my blue knit loud and proud.
Blue for me has anyways been both chic and reliable. When something feels like a second skin, you can not help but feel beautiful.
WHAT IS YOUR COLOUR OF CHOICE?
So, what colours are you wearing at the moment? Got a special hue of choice right now?
For me, my tastes rarely shift all that much. I have a set palette that I keep within and don’t often go out of that. I know the colours that flatter my skin tone, but also, most importantly make me feel confident. What about you? I’d love to know what colour it is for you! I highly encourage trying out blue indigo hues if you are looking for a sartorial refresh. They work with so many other wardrobe staples, particularly blue jeans, and tan accessories.
