On this particular morning I really needed the extra layer, I think it took Mario and I a good few minutes to thaw after being whipped around by the early Fremantle wind. I didn’t even take my gloves off to shoot and I could see Mario’s icey fingers moving slowly around the camera. I have always taken a denim jacket with me on my travels as I can roll up easily and be thrown over a cotton dress, a or skirt and tee look as easily as it can go over something like this.
Your denim does not always have to come in the form of jeans, it can be a jacket or shirt, which pair well with another textile such as cotton, linen or leather. Keeping the jacket simple, you can also experiment with patterns and print. As I type this I am at my family’s house in Adelaide dressed in my old Pyjamas. Back in the day I loved colour, print and clashing things together. I am feeling a little like a clown in a mix of polka dots, stripes, some animal print (with little forrest creatures sketched on it) and finally a cardigan with a knitted reindeer. It is safe to say that I have not worn anything like this in a long while and I am happy to leave it well alone!
I’ll stick to my black ensemble seen here. I would love to see how you wear your denim jacket, please share it with us on Instagram and use #denimweek15 as the tag for us to find your look. Show me your patterns! :)
