It had me at red, white and blue. Classic colours that instantly compliment your wardrobe.
I am not sure how it is Friday again already. Another week has flown by me without my realising! Between shooting projects for multiple clients this week, it has sped by. Though, at least, given the mix of rain, hail, and shine we have seen, I have been too busy to notice. Here is hoping if you are caught up in winter too, that you have been keeping busy!
I am reassured that warmer days are coming. (Soon pls!)
ONE MORE CHECK BLAZER
Back to my topic at hand. Each season, I write myself a bit of a wishlist of items that I am going to wear a lot, and if need be, invest in. The items have to be good quality and versatile. Earlier this year after cleaning out my closet I wanted to add back in some quality blazers in a classic print. This quickly led to my beloved Anine Bing check blazer which you saw back here. Since then, I found another warm tone fitted check blazer via Bohemian Traders. Somehow I’ve also ended up with four similar grey check blazers as well!
As you know, I like to dress in my own self-imposed uniform, which is often jeans, a tee or button-down shirt, a leather jacket or blazer. Due to this simplicity, I definitely like to have a few options to vary my uniform. However, I prefer to set a limit of three per style. Six check blazers is overkill!! Thanks to this, I have now taken out three of the check blazers and added them to my sale/ donate box. These will be listed soon on my Carousell page.
RED WHITE AND BLUE
But you guessed it, this red, white and blue check blazer found itself a home with me too! I’ve talked about Boden being one of my favourite UK brands to go to for classic pieces like affordable cashmere, Breton stripe tops, silk shirts and blazers many times. If you missed my stripes update from earlier in the year, find those four looks here.
This blazer caught my eye instantly. I love to pair red, white and blue together. It was smart, perfect to pair with all the hues of denim I own as well as either a plain top or graphic print. So, this is now my FINAL check blazer in the collection.
Having said that, if you are in the market for a good blazer, I did spot that Boden have also just made a classic wool tweed blazer range in a bunch of classic colours including another check one here. Personally, I have some similar ones to these in my winter wool blazer collection already but the red one has my attention. Damn it, someone stop me!
DO YOU HAVE ONE ITEM YOU KEEP BEING DRAWN TO?
Please tell me that I am not alone in continually being drawn to one or two of the same pieces in different variations!! Do you have one item that you keep being drawn to? I’d love to know what it is! Let me know below.
For me, it is all too often that I find myself drawn to my staples. Black boots, leather moto jackets, classic blazers, graphic tees, classic jeans, white sneakers, gold hoop earrings and necklaces, tea dresses, silk slip dresses… You get the drift.
