Sartorially this year it is easy to see that in addition to my neutrals, stripes and denim, I added in more reds, mustard yellows and even more blue. The everyday denim outfits took an occasional break as I embraced tea dresses. Wrap, ruffle, printed and all beautiful, tea dresses have joined a simple silk slip dress to be among my most worn items.
The most popular posts this year have all been those about my beloved Realisation Par dresses. I have two new posts of new Realisation Par dresses to share with you soon. I am also planning a Realisation Par try on and impressions video for the underused Inspiring Wit TV YouTube channel. (Please let me know if this is of interest).
This year I began to do seasonal edits of my favourite products in beauty. I share beauty favourites on a weekly basis over on the Inspiring Wit Instagram @inspiringwit. Rounding them up seems to be one of the better ways to get through a bunch of tried and tested products. 2017 saw me try so many new brands that I can not even tell you how many I have tried! I fell for new skincare ranges, fragrances and lipsticks- so many lipsticks!
Looking forward to sharing more in 2018. How do you like the seasonal edit idea? Shall I keep going?
This year travels were a little more interrupted. With personal events being held interstate, through the year, I was less able to head overseas than I would have liked. While we did get back to Adelaide and down South of Western Australia a few times, the only overseas trip we took I am yet to share.
Our Penang trip with AirAsia we are currently editing to share along with a few more exciting trips that I have for one reason or another had to wait to reveal as well. While it seems quiet on the travel front on Inspiring Wit, it hasn’t been! All in due course.
And as for 2018? So far, we are heading up to Broome mid-year on two separate trips and are working on returning to Melbourne, Adelaide and heading to Tasmania. As for any overseas trips? Wait and see… :)
After a solid year in 2016 of reading all sorts of self-development books and sharing my findings and experiences, in 2017, my lifestyle and personal posts slowed down. Though at the beginning of each new year I focus more on the arts during our festival season, I think I burned myself out a little with the search for balance in 2016.
During the early part of 2017, I was working on filming youtube videos- which I ended up not sharing, save for one video. CRAZY, right?? I shared a little of my daily life with posts about working from home and balancing my work life with healthy eating and exercise. For 2018 I feel more ready to share personal and lifestyle content.
Truth be told, the loss of my Nana was something I took quite hard and spent a number of months struggling through. 2017 will be remembered for some of the saddest moments, but a lot of personal small wins too.

FINAL WORD & THANK YOU!
As I look back over this year, I am okay to see it go and to move into a new phase in 2018. There have been more times than I would care to admit in 2017 that I kept inside of my own bubble and second guessed myself a lot. Actually, in some ways, I probably took risks and held back on things in equal measure. But then again I am my own worst critic.
I have been so happy to welcome a new audience in 2017 and I am as ever, so thankful for all who regularly visit me on Inspiring Wit. The most rewarding part of this job is that I am able to live the dream and connect with so many people. Thank you so so much for being such great supporters.
Bring on 2018! I am ready! How about you?? Looking forward to sharing another big year with you all.
