It has just been a little over two months since we got Inspiring Wit off of the ground, and for anyone who has been following, you will expect I only talk about fashion. Whilst that is the main topic you will find here, I also love to try out and review beauty products. I thought therefore that it was high time I share a little update with you. Today I am talking about the products currently in my handbag, skincare products from Grown Alchemist I have been trying, and a little trip to Alison Jade to smarten up my brows.
With a little over a week to go until the Restyle bloggers take to the TPFF runway, I thought it was a good excuse to visit Alison Jade and have my brows done. Although I usually shade in my brows a little each day (using this powder palette), getting them done will keep them looking as bold as I like them. That little bit of shaping and dying (on the ends for me- particularly since I have been lightening my hair) helps to create a stronger look. If you are based in Perth and are looking for somewhere to get your brows shaped and looked after, visit the Alison Jade website and make a booking. One of the great parts is that the whole appointment takes around ten minutes (so you can get them done while your partner grabs a coffee!).
A couple of months ago I ordered some new skincare products via Grown Alchemist. I got a Facial Kit with cleanser, toner, rosehip oil, lip balm and moisturiser as well as a body cream. I like to trial new brands by getting smaller bottles, to ensure that I like a product before I commit to a full bottle which I may never get through. For the most part, I have liked the cleanser, but I am still not sure if it is my favourite. The moisturiser is nice, not too heavy or greasy, with a matte finish. I think I like any rose-hip oil that you put in front of me, so this one is a winner too. I am not a huge fan of the Watermelon and Vanilla lip balm, as it dries my lips out after each use. I definitely think some of the best lip treatments are cold pressed oils like Apricot oil or coconut oil.
I am really glad to have a body cream that fits nicely into my handbag, particularly because for all of the dry body brushing I do, I often forget to re-moisturise later. Often I only notice my dry legs once I have gotten into the car. Now though, I have this handy Grown Alchemist Body Cream to save me. With active ingredients pomegranate and capuacu butter skin is hydrated and nourished. This is my favourite Grown product so far.
In my handbag… some classics, that go with me everywhere (just to prove I still use them) and this new Chanel lip gloss I picked up to have on hand if I am ever shooting for the blog and look a little washed out. It is a lighter colour (believe it or not) but you can build up the intensity with a few layers. I was after a natural colour which gave me a bit of a brighter lip without looking too much like a lipstick. I love the Kora Organics Mists, and have now tried all three varieties. Also thrown into my bag, find my dark circle eraser YSL Touche Éclat and Moo Goo Honey lip balm. If you have found any great natural skincare brands let me know! xx
