A brand spotlight on Alohas Sandals, the espadrilles and sandals I’ll be wearing all summer.
I’ve been busy with so many sales posts and gift guide posts, that I feel like it’s been a while since I have shared much in the way of a good old outfit blog post! While I try not to post as many posts as I used to, knowing everyone is too busy to read more than two or three a week, I still shoot SO many outfit photos and always have a backlog that I want to share with you.
JEANS AND A TEE OR A PRINTED DRESS OR BOTH?!
Lately, apart from the everyday jeans and tees, I’ve been making the most of bare legs weather. Aka pulling out some of my favourite printed dresses.
Last week though, on Instagram, I shared a SUPER basic black tee and jeans outfit (see it here) and realised so many people were excited about it. To me, it is the standard thing I reach for as a uniform when I’m at home or just running errands without bothering to put any thought into my outfit. So, to be honest I was very surprised by all the feedback I was getting. Was it worthy of sharing?! Then I did a poll on my stories to see if people want to see more of these basic jeans-and-a-tee outfits? Were they too boring? An overwhelming number of people voted for wanting to see more! I was so shocked. I put in far more thought and consideration for styling than I clearly need to! Lesson learned.
So, while here I am wearing two of my favourite printed dresses, watch this space! Cause I will be sharing a lot of basic tee and jeans looks to come! The people have spoken. Works for me, cause, to be honest, that’ll save me time!
BRAND SPOTLIGHT: ALOHAS SANDALS
As you know, I love to discover quality brands to pass on to you guys. A few weeks ago, I was introduced to Alohas Sandals and I’ve been slipping these summery travel worthy shoes on ever since. New to the Australian online landscape, Alohas Sandals are already loved by some of my favourite international travel bloggers. I’d seen them pop up in my Instagram feed a lot.
Glancing over at my shoe shelves (yeah, I am one of those girls, which should hardly come as a surprise!), I can spot a number of loved and worn espadrilles that I reach for all the time. Easygoing, comfortable and chic, I love how much I can rely on a good espadrille! This summer so far I’ve been reaching for these lace-up Gladiator Sandals to wear with dresses, shorts or linen pants. Handcrafted in Spain, with a recyclable jute sole, they are well made and will last me for years. I don’t like to buy a lot, but buy well, so this is exactly what I was after.
MAKING A CASE FOR A WEDGE HEEL
The next shoe I got from Alohas Sandals were these suede and velvet wedge Clara by Night espadrilles, which I think I’d originally wanted in the cream, but they were all sold out. It didn’t matter because this unexpected burgundy and black combo have proven very wearable. Like, I could almost wear these wedge espadrilles in every day they are SO comfortable.
While I seldom reach for a heel these days, these are different. Rather than balancing on a stiletto and getting them stuck in grates and random holes in the pavement (forever the death of my heels!) I am comfortable but still get that height. Win!
I’ve just seen that the new Resort 19 collection is out and the Wheat vegan version of these are next on my summer wishlist. They are definitely coming with me on my summer travels coming up! So, expect to see these more (with jeans and a tee, obviously! haha).
